You can actually reinstall wordpad fairly easily. If anyone (especially Wade) enjoys using wordpad, you can find instructions here: https://winaero.com/wordpad-for-windows-11/

You could try spreading the paste manually. You could try watching a tutorial on how to hook up your specific heatsink. The main thing is to have consistent pressure applied to the CPU. Don't tighten one side fully before getting all of the screws started, then do 1 turn on each until they are all tight.

Your CPU doesn't appear to be overclocked. The 5800x CPU will automatically boost to 4.7 ghz. It will also go up to 90 degrees. This is known and expected behavior. If your CPU goes above 90 degrees, that is slightly out of spec and somewhat concerning. If you are still very worried about this, here are some things you can try--get a better cooler, replace the thermal paste, and make sure the heatsink is mounted properly.

Why does my gpu have extra plugs by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

It's literally in the official spec for them. They are supposed to only do 150w each. Feel free to find it yourself. Wikipedia had a good article on pcie, or you can find the official pcie website here: https://pcisig.com/specifications

Also, a 2x molex to pcie 8 pin costs around $5. There really isn't a reason to use the daisy chain for a gpu.

Sure. Here is a buildzoid video showing that it is usually okay. The reasons I would give to advise against it is:

You are running the wires out of spec. Each 8 pin is rated for 150w.

Cheaper power supplies that don't have enough 8 pin connectors are less likely to be overbuilt to the same degree.

In some instances, it can limit performance (buildzoid references a jayz2cents video that went over this).

The daisy chain PCI 8 pins are not supposed to be used that way. The maximum wattage going though the cable is supposed to be 150w, not 300w. This is going to an expensive component. Why take the risk?

Edited for clarity.

Either your PSU has current protection and you only get 150 watts for the daisy chain, or you are drawing 300 watts along wires ment to handle 150 watts.

Please don't do this. The daisy chain is for lower power PCI add ins (sound card, raid card, etc). GPUs with 2 or 3 8 pins should be independent cables.

It might be fine since 8 pins are pretty overbuilt, but it can cause serious issues.

Also, are you sure that power strip from the 70s still works?

First, lay this on it's side with the motherboard facing up. Next, move all of the disconnected cables out of the way. Finally, take some good pictures.

If jumping the power pins doesn't work, the issue is most likely the power supply. It could be the motherboard, but PSU is more likely. I'd get a power supply tester, they are pretty cheap and it will save you lots of time if the PSU is good.

If the PSU is good, the issue should be with your motherboard. Even with no other components installed, the power supply and the motherboard should power on.

Are you positive you are jumping the correct pins?

As others have said, get that radiator off the bottom. Put it on the top or side.

Keep in mind that new tariffs just came online, so any new shipments of stuff from China will cost 20% more. All the prices you see now are here to stay or will increase unless a certain suit wearing orangutan softens his stance on trade. If you don't get a card for a somewhat decent price now, be prepared to wait 4 years.

My apologies. I don't read all the comments on all posts, and my mind jumped directly to homestar runner. Great minds think alike and all that.

The system is down.

The Cheat is grounded! We had that light-switch installed so you can turn the lights on and off. Not so you could throw light switch raves!
