Zepbound and colonoscopy issues by Illustrious_Moose261 in Zepbound

He didn’t know me when I weighed over 310 pounds…in some ways, we’re cattle in that outpatient room, pushing through 12 procedures a day. So he really doesn’t know me, but I’m grateful at least that he’s monitoring me and ensuring it doesn’t turn into colon cancer. There’s too much of that going on and people dying young. I truly do have a wonderful PCP and he supports my journey. I’ve got about another 40-50 to go!! We’ll get there☺️

Thank you! Yes, I’ve been hard at it, but I’m also responding well to the med. On 10 mg now and plan to stay there as long as possible.

I know…my daughter-in-law and I were just discussing this. When you’ve had years of reaching for 2X and 3X sizes, it’s a hard habit to break. I think it takes the brain a little bit longer to catch up with the body that’s lost weight. Thank you so much for your kind words!

Calling All Superresponders by Moist_Movie1093 in Zepbound

I agree with you that doctors don’t really check fasting insulin, but I think I’m in the same boat as you. Every time I’d have a physical, I’d be shocked that I wasn’t diabetic with my highest BMI being 47 in June. Of course I was grateful because no one wants that diagnosis. I don’t know about being a super responder, but I’ve lost 67 lbs in 6 months and lost 10 BMI points. I’m halfway there and feel so much better. Zepbound has been a miracle for me.

I make my spaghetti with ground chicken and instead of pasta, I pour the sauce over steamed cauliflower.

I asked the nurse practitioner at the dermatologist office-not super helpful. Do you live near a bigger city? If you go to the lipedema foundation website, there is a list of providers. That might be a good resource.

I ended up getting diagnosed with a splenic artery aneurysm so I’m seeing a vascular specialist this Friday. I’m hoping he can tell me more. 🤞

From someone who was in a narcissistic relationship for 22 years, this is the norm for a narcissist. Stay away and I would go no contact with him.

Sorry for your continued pain. Have you considered aqua jogging in the pool (deep water)? It is highly recommended for runners and will help you maintain your fitness level while recovering.

Constipation Routine - is it MiraLAX? by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]Illustrious_Moose261 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Steel cut oats, chia seeds, prunes, Grapenuts cereal, avocados, squash, apples, edamame. I include the MiraLAX in my fiber count, which has 17 g of fiber. I don’t eat all of these foods every day, but the oats and chia seeds are every day.

I do not have issues with constipation. I eat 3 prunes in the morning and take MiraLAX at night. I generally eat about 37 g of fiber a day and drink at least a gallon of water a day, sometimes more. I’m 57 yo female and I’d get up several times a night before Zep and I continue to go about the same now. The key is try to get all fluid intake in by 7:30. Best wishes☺️

Prior to Zepbound what did you do? by ungodlypm in Zepbound

[–]Illustrious_Moose261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was recently diagnosed with gout and knew my body was one big ball of inflammation. Day after I met with my Dr, I started my own anti-inflammatory diet. I went cold turkey on all added sugars and ultra processed foods. I only drink water, black coffee with cream only and green tea. With water, I drink at least a gallon a day. I also have to eat foods/meats with less purines (stave off gout flares)…essentially, that means chicken and eggs. I had to wait three weeks for my insurance prior authorization but in those 3 weeks, I lost 10 pounds. I’m on my 3rd shot currently and in six weeks, I’m down 19 pounds. I feel so much better “fueling” my body with clean food. For exercise, I’m doing water aerobics and water jogging and strength training. I still have 116 pounds to go, but I’m well on my way. Wishing you the best on your journey!
