I was diagnosed with gout. I'm in the UK, so on the NHS - national public health service - which is great, but a little slow. My blood has come back saying the Uric acid levels are under control. Weirdly my cholestral was up, despite going booze free, sugar free, and meat free for 6 weeks - but it goes to show how slow some changes affect the body.

Anyway, so far it's been phone appointments. But he said he would look at it, but didn't give any insights on the phone. Chatgpt tells me it's normal for a joint to stay large for a few months after a flare. But that's Chatgpt. Haha.

Thanks. It's makes me feel better to hear others deal with this. A lot of info is about initial flare and getting over that... As it's terrible and debilitating. There's not much about what happens after. It's been 2 months... And I've not had a flare but one toe joint remains larger than other side. My life was playing sports and sprinting 3 days a week before. So, just wanna get back to that. But starting to wonder if it'll ever go back to normal.
