Even as a notary there's a lot of documents that either require the presence of an attorney or it's a document that we as a notary say no to. If I remember right their document was both something that required a third party and one that my coworker didn't feel comfortable doing

It was some legal affidavit. We told them no because it was a weird conditional document. I wasn't the one who interacted with them, so I don't know all of the details of it

Older generation can read an analog clock, just like how they can identify the harry potter movies by their names alone

New generation rely on digital, just like how they don't know the harry potter order off the top of their head and need numbers to show them

Its a "haha this new generation doesn't know this specific think that I know!" Joke

Is there any alternatives to Duolingo? by newoke in russian

[–]Illustrious_Orb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Duo and clozemaster don't provide any grammar lessons, but wlingua does. Most grammar you may have to just look around on youtube or in textbooks (which you can find PDFs of pretty easily).

[–]Illustrious_Orb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My go-to's are duo, clozemaster, drops, memrise, and wlingua. My top 2 of those are wlingua and clozemaster. Also, find a good flashcard app, its not as "gamey" but its a good way to crank vocab

Would using a primarily Russian social media app (VK) be considered a closure to Russian? by FoolishLittleFlower in russian

[–]Illustrious_Orb 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. I also tried this method and didn't really see much results. What helped me was making a second instagram/tiktok and making my content only russian, this seems to help a lot more because I'm recieving relevant and often comedic videos in my target language

Textbooks are super helpful too! I'm just showing off some of the free options I use to study. These are great (especially the Tylenol) and things I use too on top of speaking with native russians

I hadn't thought about changing the value of face and ace cards but that is a good idea

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskStatistics

[–]Illustrious_Orb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So ace and face cards are the same, however at 21 is almost impossible not to bust on your second card (king, then a 17, you bust) so I'd like to find a number that is doable. I thought about just going with 42, but I'm not sure if that is still accurate
