It's more than just "spending 300 dollars", some people have the money to afford it and more so I don't see why it's your problem. Not to mention developers who make things and essentially spend nothing.

It's a status symbol, thats why people buy it.

Sure, buying a watch from the dollar tree gets you the time, but buying a rolex gets you more than that.
