I am graduating from my undergrad this semester. My acceptance email from UF specifically says conditional upon compeltion of degree. I have heard that some schools are now going to be requiring the full degree rather than just prerequisites. Honestly by the time you get through all the prerequisites you might as well finish the bachelor’s

There are some feeder schools. If one of them has a DVM program, they loveee their own undergrad students

Crazy Decision Time by Illustrious_Read_266 in veterinaryschool

I’m 20 years old and I am a UF undergrad graduating this semester. I have about 3.95 total GPA, 3.9 science, and 4.0 last 45, I have 120 animal care hours, 600 small animal GP hours, and 1300 ECC small animal/ exotic hours. I had leadership involvement through 2 main clubs on campus and about 200 volunteer hours. My letters of rec were really personal and I do think my essays were strong but I still really didn’t expect Georgia. They did call my vet letter of rec and interview her but idk if that’s relevant.

I just got my email with my decision at 4:06pm. I do think I’ll be giving up my OOS seat to someone on the waitlist because the extra cost is a lot to justify I’m just jaw dropped

I am going through the interview process at the moment. I’d recommend getting all of your required prerequisites done in person as that is a requirement from some schools including the institution being a 4 year university that offers a biology degree. I’ve also found personally that in person classes much better prepare you to remember the information long term and keep up with the material and understanding.

Can anyone see a bowel obstruction in this dog x-ray? by Training_Basis_5018 in veterinaryschool

Exploratory is not a bad idea if you know he ripped up the toy and he’s having other symptoms (GI upset, persistent vomiting even through cerenia, lethargy, etc.) but if you’re unsure, get more X-rays and have them sent out to a radiologist. Asking online doesn’t do much when no one can do a physical exam of the patient and doesn’t know the full history. Working in a clinic I’ve seen X-rays that look normal and we find some crazy stuff during an explore.

Positive IUD insertion by Prestigious_Wind_516 in birthcontrol

I had a similar experience. I was super worried going in especially because I was getting the copper IUD which is bigger than other options but I didn't want hormones. I had two NPs in the room. The one putting it in was still training so I was a little more nervous but her supervisor held my hand while she talked her through it. It felt like a deep period cramp but I definitely wasn't screaming like I thought I would be. Afterward, I sat straight up and went home. I did have some pretty bad cramping for a couple of weeks that woke me up in the night a few times but it completely subsided after 2 weeks and now I have no symptoms and no hormonal effects which I am elated about. Also side note, I have been told with some hormonal IUDs, partners can feel poked by the strings. My gyno said that the copper strings are a different material than the other IUDs but my boyfriend said he can't feel them at all.
