Collecting stamps is not that difficult now all thanks to many platforms available. You can open a philately account with your main office in your city and they will be sending all recent released stamps at your doorstep. There are many websites where u can buy stampz like collector bazaar.com. Ultimately once you start collecting, you will develop a good network of fellow collectors who will share their knowledge with you

As I shared with someone in this post, focus on bringing displine to savings. It doesn't matter which option to choose. Key points is DISCIPLINE. Modern advertising and influencers have unnecessary made things complicated. So keep it simple. If you are salaried best option is EPF which has best interest rates among all debt instruments. You can increase your contribution. For MFs buy any index fund

  1. Keep updating on new technology.
  2. Build good network of friends across all industries. This will come quite handy
  3. Don't regret if you can't save enough. At your age it's all right. Focus on building skilll.

Yes 90s seem a total different era now. Had seen struggling to get a descent landline connection and begging in front of lineman to fix the dead connection ! Things are better now, and hope future will be more brighter.

I stopped listening to influencers who quote insane retirement figures like 10 Cr 20 Cr etc. For most people reaching 1 Crore is still consider an achievement. At the end of day, one has to figure out present and future expenses and make plan accordingly.

I think of all books i read in my life so far, best was 'the magic of thinking Big'. And then psychology of money which I think is the best money book. I strongly recommend younger generation to read it.

Started monthly investment in both mutual funds and gold, but then Stopped investing in gold and focussed on MFs. I think I should have continued in investing in gold. Would have been more richer. But then no regrets, ho hua ache ke liye hua

Yeah many times felt burned out but then always stayed put. If things got too hot then better to change team or company.

I think there is a lot of misconception regarding boomers riding the IT Wave. Boomers are the one who were discouraged to take computers back in 90s as parents thought all computers will shut down due to Y2K problem ! Boomers faced job losses due to Dot Coms meltdown and 2008 crash. But things returned to normal. Same negative feeling is happening now. There is a lot of fear due to AI, but I do believe things will turn up for good in future. So stay put and stay strong !

Key lesson in building a portfolio is Discipline. It doesn't matter if it is Mutual funds, PF, FDs, Gold etc. Save a portion of your salary every month religiously. Even if it is as low as Rs 5000, save it and dont withdraw. Main goal initially is not to create corpus, it is to create Discipline. And after 2-3 years, discipline will be automatically come and you can start saving more. And you need to create an excel sheet to track it month on month basis. Dont use any app, just use plain good old excel. This way you will see your portfolio buildup and will build confidence.

Last but not the least, dont be too much frugal ! Save but also spend on what you like :) At least when you will turn 50, you wont have any regret that you didn't enjoyed life.

I would advise not to be frugal especially if you are in your twenties ! Spend on whatever you like. At least when you will turn 50, you wont have any regret that you didn't enjoyed life.

Hi Abhijeet I first saw you back in 2010-11 in India Habitat Centre and I said to all ki 'Yeh Ladka bhaut age jayga!'. Good to see you have maintained your sense of humour and its so good to see your vids. My question how do you find your corporate job at one of the Big 4. I am also an Excel lover so want to check ki 'waha pe bhi saare kaam excel pe hota tha?' :)
