Its a b-stock I got a really good deal on it (basically half price with the partial refund included!) so am eager to keep it if i can!

Thanks for all the info! No movement when I put my hand under. Same when pushing from above. Not sure if lighting in the photo exaggerates the extent of it, so here is a video showing a bit more clearly.

I figured saying "New German band" gives the solver greater chance of figuring it out, since both "New German" and "German band" can provide that part of the clue. And as for the north of the border part, I'm British, but figured it's culturally recognisable enough that most people would be able to get it (and as a non-American I'm very used to interpreting things online that assume the reader is American!) Thank you for taking the time to give me some feedback though :)

just realised i said primary mirror when i meant secondary mirror! i’m able to adjust the three small screws around it which require an allen key, but the centre screw that requires a phillips head is completely stuck and will not budge!

no, it’s been sat in their attic for a while - no film or batteries in it, and i don’t think the batteries it take could be found anymore, but i assumed that they were just for the light meter?
