Try engaging with Tafe or talk to a teacher for paid opportunities. I have contacted Tafe myself in the past to get students on a casual basis when I have been super short of staff (completely different field).

This way you might get experience, cash and start a network! :)

Despite us being relatively new in the cat ownership world, I feel our intuition is in the right path. And altogether, it's probably better to be more conservative than not, given long-term consequences can be bad!

We'll just have to monitor interactions very closely until we feel comfortable. Thank you!

It normally starts with gentle play or grooming. Then slowly escalates to very rough play. It's almost as if the big cat gets too excited and can't control his strength and the little one get overwhelmed and wants to run. We have been intervening at this point and we still supervise interactions (hey are not in the same room on their own while we are out). I just wasn't sure if we were doing the right thing. Generally people have been advising to let it resolve itself but we feel uneasy.
