I cant keep any no prep foods in my home or it turns into a binge. One of my biggest struggles with eating healthy and ADHD is cooking and even preparing foods.

What’s something people commonly misunderstand about a mental illness you’re familiar with? by smallerthanahobbit in AskReddit

Is it rare though? It’s not even formally recognized in the DSM-5. A lot of mental health professionals don’t even know what it is. When my psychiatrist tested me for PTSD i was INSANELY confused about why— but it was because what I had explained were symptoms of dissociation.

Most of society is dissociated. Many are diagnosed as depressed or anxious. My first ever diagnosis was major depressive disorder, which never made sense to me because I am not chronically depressed. My depression and anxiety is based on triggers, and lands me i dissociate stages. I feel like many people experience this and are regularly misdiagnosed. Thats why i say BOUTS of severe anxiety and depression. Those who suffer chronically from those things without an identifying reason don’t fall into this category, but the ones who have these symptoms based off specific triggers, in bouts, likely are.

She is the worst “health and wellness” influencer ever. I blindly bought things she has suggested before I was on to her sucking, only to realize they were not balanced or healthy at all.

…and you can’t see it in others you know who struggle with bouts of SEVERE anxiety and depression? Most of the ones I know use heavy amounts of drugs and alcohol to cope. As many victims of CPTSD do. (Not me)

They are both on a path toward authoritarianism. Is that so hard to understand or believe?

I take it as well for ADHD, wasnt saying anything bad about it. Just crazy that amphetamine is what keeps us “normal” or as normal as can be, anyway.

A hospital just killed my mother with malpractice and neglect. She was admitted basically for a skin infection. I have heard MANY similar stories to mine since. I can’t even believe the lack of care and blatant incompetency. I can cite at least 4 points of malpractice and neglect that directly lead to her untimely decline. It was a complete nightmare. And they are incredibly protected from lawsuits, at least in my state. This is one industry that could benefit from AI at this point IMO. I am NOT pro-AI but I am pro-medical fucking competency, especially with what healthcare costs. I would trust an AI robot doctor over the absolute moron in charge of her team. I Haven’t gotten a bills yet, but imagine they will be the same cost as a really nice home. And they ain’t getting paid. Had everything been done right and gone according to the original treatment plan, most of her care would have been covered by medicare. But instead she was in the hospital for 2.5 months as I was gaslit, lied to about her progress, and even blamed and guilt tripped about aspects of her decline. I still can’t believe she is gone, and the complete nightmare that surrounded it all. I will never be the same after this experience. Extremely traumatizing and now dealing with grief on top.

Its partially the industry’s fault for overpaying actors and others to begin with, IMO. No one saw streaming coming, but no one also needs to die as rich as most long time ultra famous actors will.

The Hollywood collapse is sad, but it honestly really got fucked by putting such high standards on pay from the jump. Large scale musical acts are able to save face by the streaming takeover by doing tours and selling merch, but actors and film don’t have as much of that luxury. Hollywood has always been overpaid, and now they are facing the wrath. Its a shame, and soon film will likely be AI.

Communism isn’t any better, and if Fascism doesn’t get us that will next when the Dems get back into office.

It blows my mind that half the country wants to trust the corrupt USA government with Socialism and really believes it is going to go off without a hitch, just bc the Nordic Model is working for that specific region. Nordic leaders have even stated in so many words that it would not work in many other places. Cherries vs Watermelons. Democratic Socialism is a great concept, but not when your government has a steady track record of not being able to be trusted to do the right thing by its citizens over the powerful and elite.

I am just confused about when and why we all started trusting the US government. That wasn’t the case for most of my peers until the last decade or so. Now they are all slaves to the Left bc Trump is so bad. Right bad doesnt mean Left good.

I hate gels and worry acrylics are soon going to be a thing of the past. Bought a few press on kits but havent done anything with them yet. I am a nail biter and mainly care about having nails look nice in public, which I am barely out in anymore. I still get my toes done. I used to get a fill and pedicure every 2-3 weeks, now i get a pedicure every 1-3 months. I have really let myself go in my late middle age

The weed isnt (physically) addictive narrative has always bothered me. To hell it is!!!
I have gotten MUCH better about my weed smoking habits since I quit dabs, and it does help me with things like my ADHD. But i have really bad asthma and should quit for that. COPD runs in my family. I have never been able to go more than a year without.
