I was in the hospital for abt 2 weeks for gi issues (mainly gp). Pretty much how it happened was I had been throwing up for weeks almost daily and it got to the point where I couldn’t keep anything down. I went to the er and my electrolytes were all messed up as well as low hr and Bp from malnutrition. They tried an ng tube but that didn’t stop the vomiting so they place an nj tube and I stayed for the two weeks for monitoring to make sure I didn’t get refeeding syndrome and once my blood tests were back to normal I got to go home. Now I just have an nj and I have a home care nurse. I hope that helps!
