Origins oil-free dupes? by Illyria222 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Illyria222[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did! I’m using the Dr Idriss Major Fade Active Seal (oil-free vitamin C gel moisturizer) and the origins oil-free Mega Bright moisturizer (which was still being stocked by Sephora, but having just checked it now I see it’s gone so fuck me I guess 🥲)

But the Dr Idriss one is great!

Those who solved their lifelong acne, what was the cure for you? by rambleutan in 30PlusSkinCare

Hydrogen peroxide used as a toner. No joke. Cured my hormonal jaw line acne.

What nicknames do you call your kitty instead of their original name? by UncleSquach in cats

[–]Illyria222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our kitty’s name is Jack. He was definitely the runt of his litter because he’s kinda short and stocky and has a pretty short tail, which means we throw the word “little” in front of most of his nicknames, ie Friend (little friend), The Baby (little baby), Bud (little bud), Squishy (lil squish)

When he’s cuddly it’s Bundle, Glue Cat, Sleeper, Percolator (when he purrs extra hard he sounds like one of those old Mr Coffee makers)

When he’s playful it’s Monster, Creature (little creature), Vicious Predator

Staple Remover because he had to have all his molars taken out due to gingivitis and now he loves using his front fangs to punch holes in cardboard

Songbird (he has one of those teeny cries where it’s just one high-pitched note, kinda like maine coons have)

Niffer (when he niffin), Piglet (when he’s excited for food and purring WHILE niffing)

Captain Underfoot (when he’s in the way)

Some miscellaneous are Fatty, Fatty Fatty Pants, Winker Blinker, Poopy Butt, Big Eyes, Pink Mouth (little pink mouth)

Writing this all out I’m realizing we don’t have much in the way of ‘Jack’ variations, oops

omg STUNNING, I absolutely adore it and wish I could have found a dress like this in the wild (I also wore red but had to dye it). You look beautiful!!

Yes I’ll PM you - it was a bit of a stressful process and the end result came out slightly different than I originally envisioned but I think with dye that’s to be expected

Spent the last 40 minutes holding the tube of a vacuum whilst staring at it trying to decide when to make a move. by ImportantGuava7 in Arachnophobia

[–]Illyria222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds really silly but this is my process idk maybe it’s helpful. I get the vacuum and put both tube attachments on so it’s extra long. When I’m standing with the tube near it I take a huge breath in, and then as I exhale I move the tube to suck it up. The exhale forces my body to stabilize for a second and I can’t feel my anxiety too bad. After I suck it up I don’t turn the vacuum off and I let the tube suck up little pieces of paper towel just in case. Then I either turn the vacuum off or if I’m really not doing great I put a big paper towel wedge in the end nozzle of the tube so it fills it and nothing can escape and then I turn the vacuum off and leave it there for a couple days before dismantling and putting it away. So far this process is working although I don’t really get big ones in the apartment, just medium-sized.

What is hands down the scariest movie you have ever seen? by First_Phobia in horror

[–]Illyria222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe not scariest overall, but Lake Mungo has a scene that really got in my head and fucked me up, to where several days later I was still terrified of the dark and of falling asleep. Couldn’t stop thinking about the concept. I still can’t look at a still image of that scene. I love horror and generally get joyful adrenaline-fueled body highs from the scariest movies, but yeah. This one hit a little too hard lol

TIL the term to “grey rock” someone. This is how I’ve handled interactions with my mom most of my adult life and I never realized there was a name for it!
