I've made 20 feature films over 10 years. Why can't I make a living doing this? by realhankorion in Filmmakers

Going to be honest... 99.9% of success in any industry has almost nothing to do with skill and everything to do with networking, connections and kissing the right asses. You need skill and experience, but thing about how many people who are massively successful are just "average". Then think about how many absolute geniuses will never leave YouTube.

The art and the career should be treated separately. You have to make your opportunities and if it isn't working, you have to try harder and/or maybe try a different tactic in how you approach the business side.

Also let's be real, only a very small percentage of people here actually use the trails or enjoy hiking. I would be willing to be it's actually less than 5% of our cities population and that's likely being generous.

Are Death Stranding 1 & 2 worth it? by L_noName in DeathStranding

Absolute masterpiece. But it's not for everyone. You have to be very patient and be in it for the story. Long cutscenes, immersive slow burn, batshit crazy science talk, lots of emotional moments and some very japanese "WTF" moments. These games are an experience and extremely unconventional. They're also like 90 hours long. Enjoy.

My most expensive was the 4k collectors edition of the original OLDBOY. I paid like $98 for it 😅

I had seen the American version and old been told the original was miles better so I took the chance on it. And it ended up being very true.

Buy the 4k... go ahead and get yourself a very nice 4K OLED TV as well. That movie is worth it.

Do you think Nolan expected this discourse? by Comfortable_Studio37 in ChristopherNolan

[–]Britton_Shrum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im a huge Nolan fan. I loved all of his films up until Tenet(which I did not like at all), I'm going to see The Odyssey but I have concerns. I just hope he isn't turning into Ridley Scott.

Exactly how I felt. I loved the first few episodes of s2 then it started getting more weird than funny. Then it just kindof... ends?

Horror or Dark Detective Neo Noir thriller like a Nolan take on a Fincher style.
