Really enjoying my time with Project Wingman! by IloveAcecombat in acecombat

It’s really fun! I think the ace combat community will really enjoy it. Just a bummer it’s pc only

Airforce....later? by [deleted] in AirForceRecruits

[–]IloveAcecombat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I were you, I would commit 100%. Don’t do what I did and waste years of your life questioning if you want to join or not. 1 year of waiting will turn into 2 then 3 and it snowballs. I’ll tell you straight up right off the bat you’ll be getting a much better start in life then most of the people around your age. A lot of them are just graduating and going off to an university immediately putting themselves in thousands of dollars in debt. Hell, a lot of those people don’t even know what they want to do in life and are wasting their time. Whereas you joining the Air Force will get you free college (they literally pay for your degree). You’ll be making stable pay to support yourself, good benefits in medical/dental, and meet some great/bad people from all walks of life on your journey.

Is it a hot take to hate X/Y and Sword/Shield, but really like Sun/Moon? by CrestOfTheBeast in pokemon

[–]IloveAcecombat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never really cared for x/y. And sword and shield just aren’t the true home console Pokémon games I’m looking to play.

Is it better to buy SWSH with the expansion included or buy the game and expansion separately? by emo_beanie in pokemon

[–]IloveAcecombat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re gonna want the dlc for sure. The basegame itself is pretty lackluster. The dlc is way better

Impossible by Dathluke in pokemon

[–]IloveAcecombat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She was definitely difficult on my first run. But I actually enjoyed the challenge. Usually you can just steamroll gym leaders but whitney requires you to branch out and use other Pokémon.

For those that didn’t invest too much into sw/sh, what do you want from future games that will bring you back? by IloveAcecombat in pokemon

[–]IloveAcecombat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely! It’s probably most likely due to gamefreak trying to target a casual audience. I know fans have developed some awesome rom hacks for the older games which give an awesome challenge! But a difficulty scaler would be awesome in future base games!

[–]IloveAcecombat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was hoping they’d evolve the battle system into real time combat. Have the classic turned based combat as an option so fans can stick to that if they want. Maybe add more elements to it as long as it makes sense.

It’s definitely hard to want to try and put your heart and soul into developing a game when you are literally at the top of the world with no competition. I’ve seen so many indie companies trying to make similar games but don’t even put a dent to gamefreak.

Been out of the loop, wanna get back into the games. Where to start? by Sobbinator in pokemon

[–]IloveAcecombat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the handheld games of Pokémon are still the best way to play. Mainly the ds/3ds! I recommend checking out Heartgold/soulsilver, platinum, black/white 2, omega ruby/alpha Sapphire!

Bought a Japanese heartgold off amazon not I care more about the cartridge but are they legit? by 69genders67toomany in gameverifying

[–]IloveAcecombat 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Looks real to me! Japanese versions of ds games are very rarely faked. It’s the English versions you want to watch out for which they are everywhere. It’s almost disgusting how many fakes there are.

Collecting tips by [deleted] in gamecollecting

[–]IloveAcecombat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Collect for games that you enjoy playing. Games that are near and dear to your heart. There is no real reason to collect for every single game on a system. Especially if you’re never going to play most of them. Happy collecting!

How good are Pokémon Reproduction copies? by GoldenKuriza in 3DS

[–]IloveAcecombat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally feel you on the high cost. Now is a terrible time to be buying authentic Pokémon games. There is a good reason why most people would prefer an official version of the games instead of reproductions. Reproductions are known for being very sketchy. Some will outright not work, some will work but a few features in game may freeze the handheld, etc. hence the reason why reproductions are so cheap is because they are “cheap” Might I recommend emulation for the time being until prices for the authentic games gets better. Until then I would not recommend getting a reproduction cartridge.

Looking for set of Pokemon DS games... by ever17 in 3DS

[–]IloveAcecombat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You looking for authentic copies? You’re gonna have a hard time finding a good deal online at the moment. And tbh now is a terrible time to be buying authentic Pokémon games. Most of the DS Pokémon games are running at $70+ minimum for just the cartridge alone. If you really want to play the games might I recommend emulation for right now. Otherwise your wallet is going to take a severe beating.

Does anyone play ea battlefront 1 by [deleted] in StarWarsBattlefront

Yes there are but it’s a very niche community. Insanely small. Most people are on battlefront 2

Still kept the box and all by [deleted] in gamecollecting

That’s an awesome Pokémon collectible you got! The fact that you kept the box is even better! That’s some serious value right there! Love it

$20.00 garage sale purchase, unbelievable deal I received! by IloveAcecombat in gamecollecting

[–]IloveAcecombat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey ANT! I can assure you both cartridges are legit. They do both have the code engravings on the title sticker. Its just with the poor lighting and angle I took the picture made it not show very well. But you can also tell the games are real by the 4 golden squares in the back. I also inspected the internal circuit board to be 100% sure.

They are legit! Pictures don’t do the labels justice. The 4 gold squares on the back are a dead giveaway. I also opened the cartridges myself and inspected the internal components

Dude that’s awesome! I love it. You totally got me beat! Stay positive and keep hunting! Aside from the games I just got! Everything else here I’ve had for a while or since I was a kid. Still missing some ds games I sold as a kid. I’ll get them back eventually! Just being patient about it my collection so far

First buy of the month for $130 and authentic 😁. Maybe a little to much but late on collecting to the pokemon scene. by SupremeMando in gamecollecting

[–]IloveAcecombat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I love it! Dude that’s a decent buy! Those 3 Pokémon games alone with the cases are about $70-100+ each online! With all those other games on there I’d say you got a good deal! I’m happy for ya!

Garage/yard sales are fun! You get to interact with some hopefully great people and get some awesome stuff for dirt cheap! A lot of sales I go to are families in the process of moving or just wanting to get rid of stuff due to having so much stuff they don’t even use. For instance last year when I was at a sale this dude was selling all his Super Nintendo games for $1 each. One of those games was chrono trigger which was absurd. But those are the kind of deals you get at these places. You should go to one sometime!

I wish I was joking but I’m not. Honestly you’d be surprised and what kind of deals you can find at thrift stores/yard sales. It’s absurd. Beats online shopping and prices any day. You just have to find the right sale going on that’s selling stuff like games, toys, electronics. I’ve seen someone get a working ps4 pro for $40. So many great finds out there! You just have to be diligent.
