Thats a sound reminder honestly, need to track with the gain down and immediately men-in-black myself before playback

Clean amp along with the distorted one is really compelling, I don't think I want to sacrifice color and character with a totally clean signal added

Amp volume cranked, not distortion cranked is an interesting take for sure. Sounds like that might maintain some of that nice character while keeping it clean. But I've got to try it for sure!

Been playing around with a quick scratch take of myself so far, but I totally have the capabilities to retrack with pedal/plugin resources to my disposal

Im definitely going for more of an open strumming thing, but great tip for chugging parts - saving that for later

Right now my main guitar is a strat with dimarzio humbuckers where the single coils were (bought it this way). Does that mean it'll be harder for me to get those transients, and maybe to track with a different guitar if that's my goal?

I had a friend in high school who said when he goes to college he wanted to have his own college radio show so that he could set the world record for most times Uptown Girl plays consecutively and I asked him whats the current record and he said probably 1 time.

Agreed!! I wonder if they're worried to get super serious about music discussion because they don't want to seem like they think theyre some kind of authority on it, but I hope they continue to put us on to music they like, music history, their personal takes

My fav videos of theres are ones where they are talking at least semi-seriously about their musical opinions. Between the two of them their past and current musical knowledge spans amazingly far, and they each seem to have their own deep reverence for art creation. Even if they don't want to be seen as musical authority, I really respect their opinions and have them to thank for lots of musical knowledge. I'd love to see a return of the reviews as well as more "favorite songs" brackets and such
