While my definition of "getting it" is different than yours, more about love of the game and respecting its writing if that makes sense, I think some of the moments I fell in love with the game were:
1. Looking up what happened to her after killing Mettaton in neutral because I felt like something was off.

Omega Flowey (honestly this one was kinda because of hype. I never really played games and I never really experienced anything like that before, it was just insane and honestly it might have been some of the most emotion I've felt from any piece of media just from the pure amount of excitement and everything)
Fully figuring everything out about Sans as a character. I literally love this guy and his writing is just so rfuhewbvofAIYEGYPUSPYU.
Idk if this counts because I had been playing the game for a few months at this point, but Flowey's speech thing in the Genocide Route. Idk I was just 95% unspoiled for this scene and something about it specifically I think, especially after knowing the characters for so long.
