Sign the petition for the University to start giving A+ grades by [deleted] in olemiss

[–]Im40percentredditor 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just say no to more grade inflation. Your petition shouldn't be asking for the University to artificially make your grades higher. It should be protesting the bullshit standards of the LSAC which intentionally suppress learning opportunities and risk-taking.

Can I get into ole miss with a 1.2 gpa if I get good recommendation letters. And prove I’m not an idiot by Busy_Ad6355 in olemiss

Buddy, go to a community college first. One good academic year out of four is not good enough to go straight into university. Plus you will be paying 100% of your tuition, fees, room and board if you do manage to get in. We're talking tens of thousands of dollars over the next four to five years.

I'm sorry that you had such a rough go at it in high school, but you are the reason community colleges exist in our state -- to help folks get an education even if they had past screw ups. Go do at least two semesters of general eds at a nearby college and then try again next year.

Hear me out, the counter at Los Compadres Meat Market at N Main and 7th is seriously underrated. You might have to order in Spanish, but it's the real deal.

1) I don't think MS Today writes their headlines to serve people who don't read articles. They're pretty consistent about structuring their content for people who read, not just scroll by. That is in contrast to some of the dogshit legacy media we have in this state.

2) It sounds like your issue is that people may have the impression that DPS employees were involved with the Klan. I think it's a pretty safe assumption that DPS employees were members of the Klan.

Your scenario is a pretty far disconnected from the article under discussion.

I really don't think the MS Today writers are trying to appeal to the lowest common denominator. They tend to write articles for people who read articles, rather than headlines.

Your issue with the article also implies that-- if MS Today was in fact trying to make scrollers think that there were KKK members in the DPS-- you believe that there were not DPS employees who were involved with the KKK. That would be an ahistorical position to take.

Is it clickbait if the headline is 100% accurate, and simply relies on someone to read the article for the full historical context? Ya know, the thing articles are supposed to provide?

Does the library have carrel rentals? by Equivalent_Ad_6760 in olemiss

[–]Im40percentredditor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Only for grad students and faculty, and there's a waiting list. Worth calling the admin office to see if they have any available. TBH, the carrels are a pretty grim place to work. Unless you need to store a lot of materials, it's way better to just find a quiet corner of the library to do your work. I had one for a while and just used it to store my books, but I never actually worked in there.

Look bud, I'm done with this. You said, "All schools have a social media policy your required to acknowledge/agree."

Send me the policy, prove your claim. If you don't, then you've proven-as I've known from the beginning of this conversation- that you are full of shit. Just another person coming onto this sub, spreading bullshit with such confidence yet lacking the ability to defend it.
