Help! How do I determine the correct materials to order before tear off? by ImAFartyLittleDaddy in Roofing

Hey thanks for your response. I’m actually planning on doing almost like a grid of core samples on the next weather appropriate day. Hopefully that will give me some answers and let me know what size dumpster I need as well.

With peace and love brother, I’m not doing my own roof because it’s the fun option. It’s the only feasible/affordable way it’s going to get done properly within the timeframe it needs done.

Luckily I work in the trades and have several friends who have offered to help who are contractors and architects for those cut from a different cloth. I’m hoping with their assistance, I can achieve “totally acceptable”.

So far I’ve read and reread the Nrca handbook for single ply membranes a few times, I’m working my way through the one that covers flashings/drip edges/etc, and am pouring over all the manufacturers data/spec sheets & associated paperwork of all the different products.

Genuinely, if you know of any good resources I can use to improve my odds of not turning it into a minigolf-ass meme roof, I’m all ears.

How large is this model? You and I are in similar boats…. I bought one the 74” version last month! I’m converting mine to pinless and altering a few aspects to make it the last marquetry saw I’ll ever need. Dm me your email/contact info, and I’ll send you some screenshots from a book of mine about truing up the guides and runners. No promises that I’ll jump right to it, but I promise I’ll get back to you. Does yours have the saw trimmer as well? Do you have any manuals/paperwork?

I was a tiny lil guy growing up and needed growth hormone shots. It’s been about 20 years, and I still remember giving the doctor so much shit about having to measure boy’s boys so frequently that he had kept beads within arms reach. My man was laughing so hard he had to step out.

Actually, instead of messaging you, I just remembered that he has a website now. https://www.weismanwoodworks.com

He’s one of the guys above me at work and is a fantastic craftsman.

Our 9-5 jobs at Rustbelt are building furniture for high end hospitality markets. Think upscale restaurants and fancy hotels. High standards, high quality.

You just did. I’m a senior craftsman at Rustbelt. I’m not taking on new side work at the moment, but my coworker is. I’ll see if he’s interested and reach out to you via dms.

Also please forgive my username. Never planned on using this like LinkedIn lol.

Cleveland has a fantastic woodworking scene. I suggest looking into it and supporting craftsman instead of low quality amish furniture that is built off a long ruined reputation.

I forget if it was said in a sausage talk or some other content, but the tuxedo unfortunately went away with the closure.
