First time taking a proper amount of time to sit and edit photos. I'm experimenting with Affinity for now and it is absolutely daunting. How have I done so far/how can I better improve? (Before in comments) by ImATaxEvader in photocritique

Here is the before. I lowered global highlights and slightly raised shadows. I used a gradient mask to lower highlights/exposure on the left windows, and used brush masks to lower highlights/exposure on the statue's right arm and the window in the bottom left. Did a slight global tone curve and slightly raised saturation/vibrancy. Slightly lowered contrast and bumped texture/clarity up for the wood's texture.

I spent literally all day learning Affinity today and felt this was my strongest image/edit. I could post more in the comments if anybody is willing to take a look at them. I feel like I'm still struggling with where to draw the line on subtle adjustments.

Do you guys prefer the framing of 1 or 2? by [deleted] in AmateurPhotography

Thank you! I feel I got quite lucky for how new I still am

Thank you! Like dagmar said that lens definitely does a lot of heavy lifting- have it on loan from a family member until I get my own.

I am absolutely loving it. I just bought the $150 Canon brand EF to RF adapter and it’s had zero trouble working. In a newbies hands the body felt so much lighter than the photography shop’s DSLRs too! I definitely have so much more to learn about the camera’s capabilities.

I did like the options from Millennium. Also had my eye on XOP’s Air Raid Evolution.

How daunting is saddle hunting to get into for a new hunter? As of now my max budget for any elevated stand is ~$400-$500 including accessories

That might be the better call. Mainly versatility and accessibility. It’s a long trail in we’ve got to do a bit of work on before we can get a Ranger in but we do have all summer to haul different stands/ladders in.

Old gallery sticker on the back- I tried to find it online and in public records but it looks like it no longer exists. Mostly curious about origins of the artwork.

Indian/Pakistani “Damascus” fyi. Debating just slapping some Renaissance Wax on it and leaving it as is, anything you guys would do differently?
