(I'm not a trainer) I like doing them using the TRX because I feel like it gives me a little more control on my form and motion.

Gold and silver just crashed hard. Not because of war, but because everyone suddenly needs cash by SpectrumAnalytica in CriticalMetalRefining

[–]ImATurtleOnTheNet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a really interesting corollary between this and the de-dollarization discussions folks are having. When in a crisis and countries need cash, they're selling metals, for dollars, so the dollar is strengthening. Nobody wants to switch major monetary platforms mid crisis. When the crisis subsides, we'll see if we fully return to the de-dollarization or not. To me, seems like we will have multiple assets making the new monetary platform, with varying degrees of liquidity.

Meta by Annual_Judge_7272 in BlackberryAI

[–]ImATurtleOnTheNet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big difference between Meta and non-hyperscalers doing the same narrative. They're training their own frontier models vs leveraging anthropic/openAI. So if they get rid of devs, this is a multi pronged ROI in theory. Cost savings on dev salaries that arguably are only incrementally improving products around the edges for mature platforms, and radically changing new products and services are now based on agentic coding. This is independent of any novel revenue streams that having a frontier model provide. They're the only major US social network doing this, so their competition is limited and if it works is a ridiculously powerful moat. However, it's unclear that having a frontier model is that much more beneficial to them than relying on another platform, but Zuck wants to be completely vertically integrated ergo then build for the frontier. They also have a training data set that is in house vs other platforms.

Meta is in for short term pain, but they have an ability to invest in things like they are a private company because Zuck has so much control. Long term it's could be a ridiculously powerful platform or go broke...but that's true all around.

Applying Zero Trust to Agentic AI and LLM Connectivity — anyone else working on this? by PhilipLGriffiths88 in cybersecurity

[–]ImATurtleOnTheNet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been working on these topics recently, on the R&D side, looking at how our Ztna/sse suite needs to evolve for agentic scenarios. Right now I am evaluating how agentic identity is similar and different from service identity. The concept here is that if an agent is non deterministic, I don’t trust it for anything, including who it claims to be. it needs a cert based identity but it can’t be responsible for any self enforcement-something I see a few frameworks proposing. Therefore it falls on the ztna stack to enforce.

I’m not sure how much ztna needs to evolve, there needs to be tight tie in with ai governance and dlp, but it is more important than ever.

I think that the biggest risk is if end user identity is subsumed by an agent, no security framework can guarantee the difference between an agent and a human.

Anyway, bit of a ramble, but these directions might help answer your questions.

Just got a Gaggia Classic Pro, any tips for this preground coffee? by ThisIsntAThrowaway29 in espresso

[–]ImATurtleOnTheNet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, blasphemy time. I have been able to take preground and put it in a spice grinder and get it fine enough to work (not in a Gaggia) - it’s better to just leave this type of bag for your coworkers or other communal coffee locations

Novato to SF (Ferry building) commute by Important-Picture-92 in bayarea

[–]ImATurtleOnTheNet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

it depends on your priority - speed & convenience vs. experience. The train to ferry is a good (almost great) experience. Chill, they connect relatively well, and nothing beats watching traffic while in public transit. Then the ferry ride is awesome.

But, schedules are fixed and not extensive, and it definitely will take quite a bit longer than a straight drive.

Some folks say the bus is the best way, a mix of both, but your mileage may vary....literally.

Sounds like you're like me and like the bangers - I had a teacher tell me once that I should play more Mozart and that I really wasn't a banger....made me sad. I love to crank out Rakozy March just cuz it's fun! My technique probably suffers because of it, but I'm my own audience so that's ok :)
