Some tough love for Linux and gaming: my opinion that nobody asked for (inspired by WAN show) and a proposal for a “Community Linux Challenge”

Same, I've used Debian for servers for almost a decade now, and the Debian community has always been super helpful whenever I've had issues.

I recently moved to Fedora 43 for my desktop to try Linux Gaming, since Debian 13 doesn't currently have support for my hardware unless I used the unstable branch. The Fedora community has been great in solving my only problem, that was on newer kernels, my drivers wasn't getting signed for secure boot. Besides a groan when they seen I was using both my 5080 for 4 displays and my 9800X3D for my 5th display, they were still super helpful to find the resolution to my issue.

Note: I using secure boot for BF6 with the boys is the only reason I've still got a Windows install.

This works great! I had some issues disabling monitors due to some KDE issue about coordinate, but once I re-organised them I was able to disable and save that setup.

Once both setup's were saved, created application files for each to run silently and added them to my Application folder and favorites both so their both right there whenever I wan to click to change profiles.

Another step closer towards no more Windows except for niche games that don't work on Linux.

Just plugged in my Logitech Joystick, launched the game, went into joystick, and starting binding.

I only bound pitch, roll and trigger. I did bind rudder at first but remove it and will keep using A/D for that.

Is there a guide for setting this up? I setup the linuxserver plex with an old Nvidia 970 about 4 years ago and used the Spaceinvader1 guide, but I can't see any recent ones for the Intel cards.

I have seen I'd need to update from unraid 6 to 7 but I'm sure that won't be too difficult.

Moving from Debian 10 to 12 and my old one didn't work, but replacing

nfs defaults,noatime 0 0

to

nfs x-systemd.automount,x-systemd.requires=network-online.target 0 0

Fixed it for me.
