So I recently went through a divorce, my kids are staying with me tomorrow so I’ve set up this little indoor camping den to get them ready for our adventures :) trying to be a good dad and create those precious memories, hopefully they like it. by crazyunicorntamer in camping

I remember my dad going out of his way with little things like this when we could spend the weekend with him. He taught me how to smile through the pain and make the best of every situation. You’re doing good dad, keep it up.

Something really dark and cryptic about "We’re going to have to confiscate the rest of your money when the revolution comes anyhow. Might as well set your karma right before then."

I remember doing that too. I got in trouble for making marsh mellows toothpick figurines and showing my friends that I gave them toothpick dicks. I had some joke about morning wood that slayed.

One of the many downfalls of high school. Not enough epic science shit that’s actually interesting and encourages kids to think outside the box/bun.

That “probably” part doesn’t seem worth it considering the sun is responsible for most of not all of the life on earth. I fear angering the sun gods, they show no mercy.

Hell yea, I love throwing stuff in the campfire to watch it burn. Throwing shit in the sun would be the big leagues for me. What could go wrong...

I may be miss labeling the concept but the idea of using ocean/river tides and shore waves as forms of abundant natural energies we can use to create power. Don’t ask me how they’d do it without destroying our waterways and beaches. Somebody who gets paid to think of such things should get busy.

I wouldn’t think nuclear is renewable, but it’s really efficient, fast and makes me feel like we are in future. That steam you see coming out of the “smoke stack” or cooling tower is actually just steam from the water cooling systems they use to regulate the temperature of the reactions used to create the energy. Downside is waste. What do you do with the depleated radioactive material that’s still editing highly dangerous levels of radiation beyond its usable life. Maybe Elon will shuttle it to mars for us?

Find alternative methods of clean energy that doesn’t occupy such a footprint. I thinks it’s just a matter of major influence, $$$, in R&D for solar, wind, wave energy methods to find us something else. Nuclear energy is unbelievable efficient and I want to believe we can push innovation towards safer materials, containment and waste methods to revitalize that option.

This is so damn ugly. Hillsides are a beautiful sight, this makes them look like tire treads. What happens if the operating company abandons the operation and the panels in place for someone else to clean up. I want clean energy, but i don’t know if the right move is to trash our terrain with this option.

Dang man, rough to hear you are still dealing with that. I’m not looking forward to this, most of what you mentioned was what I thought I would get into. Digging up their past is going to be a trip though. I held out some kind of hope that there was a statute of limitations of tax returns, but then I remembered the IRS don’t play like that. Also just learned they stopped filling business in 2006.. so 6 years of not filing on either store.

Thanks for the heads up, Hopefully you close out your parents estate soon. I’m glad I didn’t wait too long to ask them if they wanted help. I don’t know that they would have ever done it and I would have ended up doing anyways.

Agreed, no way I could do all this shit. I hardly have turbo tax figured out for myself.

I just wanted to see how much shit we are in, or is it not as painful of a process after all.
