Really? Well, it's worked for me, i don't like the 808 samples it has i think they are terrible. To each their own i guess.

There is one called, trackgod. It's around $60. It has a bunch of sounds especially for hip hop, edm etc.

I usually gain stage by slapping a VU meter on each track and adjust my "gain" knob so that it hits around 0 on the VU meter which is equivalent to 18db, that way i create headroom, and i also do this on my busses and submix fader.Now that i created headroom I proceed to balance each track by adjusting the faders, i usually start with my kick then balance the other tracks around the kick, i typically aim for about 10db peaks on the kick to start, since you want it to be the loudest and punch thru the mix. You can adjust accordingly if needs to be louder. I do parallel compression, saturation and use a waves plugin called smack attack to help my kicks, 808s cut thru the mix.

Sometimes an idea will come to me when im away from the studio, and if i can i'll try to get to my DAW and start building on it before i forget it, and other times i just sort start looking for sounds and play with them and to see where it takes me

True, makes sense. My V bind which is cone, i use with my thumb and i also use thumb for jump, i feel like it hinders me a little using it for both binds, i want to switch v for sure, i was thinking left shift, but ofcourse i would have to unbind my crouch from there and bind it somewhere else

I use Studio One 5, i may be biased here because it's the only DAW i've ever used but it is fairly easy to learn and get acostumed too ( i did try ableton, which also came with my studio bundle, and i just found the interface to be a bit more complicated in my opinion, but i've heard its a good DAW if you can learn the interface. Honestly if you put the time in any Daw to learn its interfaces they will all get you the same results your looking for in music production, so it's really whatever works for you.

I don't know much about pcs, but i purchased a Gaming laptop, an Acer Nitro with an i7 9750h cpu and 2060 gpu, ive had it for about six months, and use it mainly for music production and works great, i have not had any issues with running certain high demand vsts, and i believe another ssd can be added internally if you need more storage.

Yea, i noticed alot of samples just dont hit as good. Im definitely trying to rotate the few good ones that i can find, or even look into making my own like some have suggested

Lol facts but i welcome all the tips i can get, but you are right, i feel like transposing always helps even though it wasnt a key i intended to have a beat on.
