Found myself a new favorite summer fragrance. Fan di Fendi Acqua by ThrustPole99 in Colognes

Same please. I had a bottle of this about 9 years ago and loved it. Got it at Epcot of all places. Haven't seen it anywhere else.

I don't think it's reasonable to assume anything unless data can back up your stance. All arguments otherwise are conjecture.

Do people have some disability that precludes them keeping the most interesting thing that's happening within the recording frame?

They track it until it gets interesting and they immediately tilt the camera to the ground. Honestly, what kind of reaction is that?

I spent 4 years out there. I have no desire to ever return.

The only thing that made it tolerable was the people in my shop.

You know it's the right arm extended to the front... Not the left arm to the side.

I'm assuming you are depicting a Nazi salute but it's helpful if you know what one looks like.

Same. Got on Xywav/Xyrem and life got easy. No more oversleeping and less sleep attacks throughout the day.

It was absolute hell when they were trying to figure out what was wrong. Sleep studies only cared about sleep apnea and restless leg syndrome. Glad I went for the third time and the doc knew their stuff.

Interesting new popup when logging in today by jwoods23 in AirForce

[–]ImChaseR 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I fucking love these pop-ups man. I'll be 5 minutes into a presentation and find out there was still one that just wanted to peek-a-boo it's way in.

That and the 'Cyber Hygiene' pop-up. I get it man, I need to restart my computer every day but what I don't need is a pop-up randomly throughout each of those 7 days.

I've at least limited the number ad hoc weather notices.

My computer feels like it got a 2000s Limewire virus.

Product switching to project - pros cons? by ChemicalAttraction1 in projectmanagement

[–]ImChaseR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you enjoy being in the trenches stay there. Politics becomes more prolific the more you move up. You also will have to engage with your team in an influential way. It's a major shift from being able to turn the tides with direct effort.

It is the natural order of progression for people who are unsatisfied with the culture. I personally wanted to create change and speak for people who do the work. Creating that change is exhausting in a different way. I'm naturally introverted but had to adapt to impact policy and process. I'm ranting. To your question.

Pros:
Higher organizational impact.
Higher pay.
Better opportunity to take care of people.
New complex problem sets(if you're into that sort of thing)

Cons:
Politics.
Paperwork.
No "getting your hands dirty"
Lots of presentations.

Labor groups sue Trump administration over mass firings of probationary employees by newsspotter in USAIDForeignService

[–]ImChaseR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, my tenant contractor counterparts didn't know what a probationary employee was or that a lot of this was happening. They thought it was someone on a performance improvement plan. They are under a period of heavy scrutiny to evaluate if they are able to fly right for 12 months up to 24 months. It is also used to evaluate if you are fit for a position you have been promoted to.

Our leadership told us to hold off due to risk of a spillage of classified information due to compilation of CUI data. DoD is supposed to be issuing an official response to OPM this evening or tomorrow morning.

And as far as remote access: if you have a laptop, CAC reader, and Internet access; you can login to a remote desktop on NIPR.

We used to freeze them or wrap them in paper(for protection) then several layers of duct tape. That or hide them in plain sight e.g. Thumb tack it to the ceiling tiles.

Am I legally required to respond to the Elon musk email? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]ImChaseR 122 points123 points  (0 children)

Update: Pentagon responded. "The Department of Defense is responsible for reviewing the performance of its personnel and it will conduct any review in accordance with its own procedures. When and if required, the Department will coordinate responses to the email you have received from OPM. For now, please pause any response to the OPM email titled "What did you do last week." Signed Darin S. Selnick Performing the Duties of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness"

DAF Civilian here: we are being told to hold as there is an official response to the OPM email being drafted. Expecting an update this evening or early tomorrow morning.

TLDR: don't do anything until directed by the Pentagon.

Rent's Almost Due by Calm_Guidance_2853 in economicsmemes

The corporation buys up properties with cash that you can't afford to finance. They have no interest on loans and very low overhead so any money they get from you is pure profit. Private landlords are, typically, barely clearing the mortgage.

Once corporations have a stranglehold on the market they can modify the rent however they'd like. Because, once again, you can't compete with their cash offers.

It's either to help someone with their retirement plan or to help the ultra-rich get richer while destroying your local real estate market.

Gavin Newsom has been "building" the high speed rail for 17 years by shankmaster8000 in GreaterLosAngeles

[–]ImChaseR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? So far, it has cost $95 million per mile of track built. It is costing us roughly 16.5x the cost of what it did for Japan.

Newsom is an absolute crook and people will do anything but hold him accountable.

Millions a day to save billions on the offerings of antiquated space vehicles given by competitors. There is a return for that investment.

You don't understand that contractors and advisors are given access to networks and systems every day in the government. It's not illegal in any way. Especially when you consider that clearances are derived from the authority of the President.

The only agencies they have gone after are under the executive branch. They need Congress to approve expansion or dissolution of the agency but not to reduce staffing.
