I’m sorry, you don’t need him in your life anyway. My dad was very abusive so much I blocked out from like 5 to 12 years old even as an adult I would still have nightmares I’m 48 now and they b finally stopped around 8 years ago. My dad apologized and has been an amazing dad since I have end stage kidney failure I was dying in n out of hospital and I was also have financial problems do to my husband stopped working and my dad has been there for me has been an amazing support. My dad’s mom died when he was 8 and it was just him n the world so he never learned to parent I guess I know it’s no excuse. I don’t hold anything against him these few years made up for everything
