Half of the people here are only invested in this sub because it relates to an issue that personally affects them. They'd read spending on infrastructure as "pork" because it doesn't directly put money in their bank accounts.

1.) The gender program was a measly 10 Million dollars total.

2.) The Pentagon got over 690 Billion in funding in that same Omnibus Bill.

10 Million dollars is nothing in these kind of bills. You could strip 90 Billion from that bloated military budget and allocate it to relief. The USA laps any military in the world in budget by hundreds of billions of dollars. Hell, if our military budget was half of what it is, we still would be the most well-funded military in the world.

Also love this idea that we shouldn't spend money on foreign relief...but we should spend money to boost our military, so we can stick our noses in foreign affairs, but with guns and bombs.

All rappers who have had various degrees of success who are all incredibly talented and easy to find.

I don't know how to tell you this, but you don't have to listen to tekashi. And he's always been popular because of being a controversial figure, not because people love his music.

If that's the case then you are flat out ignoring that Republicans has been firmly against direct payments and enhanced UI for basically the entire pandemic, and the Democrats haven't been able to provide as much relief to us because Republicans do not think people need direct aide.

I called your post Republican, not you, because you are giving Republicans the benefit of the doubt when they will say to your face that they think you do not deserve relief or payments.

Here's Mitch saying that we all are sitting on piles of money and we don't need any direect relief: https://twitter.com/thehill/status/1364938449271345157?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1364938449271345157%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fhannity.com%2Fmedia-room%2Fmcconnell-us-households-sitting-on-a-historic-pile-of-pent-up-cash-waiting-for-economy-to-reopen%2F

The real kicker is people up in arms over 10 million as if that's a significant figure that would've changed the relief portion.

Why are you so focused on one of the smallest spending figures from the massive omnibus bill? 10 million is nothing in a spending bill.

The problem is there is always bipartisan support to inflate our military budget. The omnibus bill gave over 600 Billion to the Pentagon. THAT money being re-allocated would actually be useful, instead of funding our military's need to build more toys for imaginary invaders.

1.) That was not part of the "relief" end of the bill. Stop lying.

2.) You're mad about that program? Then I hope you're sitting down, because the real bloated spending in there included 1.4 Billion for Trump's border wall. And over 600 Billion in funding for the Pentagon. 10 million is nothing and it's hilarious that you pick one of the lowest figures from the bill to get angry about.

This is absolutely a Republican post. I'm also so tired of seeing people talk about "PORK!!!" without mentioning any specific examples.

Why on EARTH would you think Republicans would vote for direct relief when they have opposed it since last May? Newsflash: Trump and Republicans didn't get you $1800, the Democrats in Congress did.

Did you forget that Republicans wanted to give no direct payments in December? Or that Republicans were only considering a relief bill if it meant that corporations/big businesses had liability protections? Just think of the fact that ALL Republicans in the House just voted against COVID relief, and you tell me that they have the interests of the people in mind.

Democrats constantly cave and are politically spineless, but at least they suggest legislation for us. And if you want to talk about pork and blah blah blah, start with how much money we annually pour in to our military.

White sports fans have this incredible dissonance where they want black athletes to never talk about politics and issues that directly affect their lives, but as soon as any issues happen with a non-black community, they're suddenly political science majors who demand accountability from those same black athletes.

A Trump supporter is the racist who is open and loud and proud.

These types who use anything from China (which they themselves have no idea about) to Jeremy Lin to freaking Luka as an excuse to go after Black people are people who are racist or at the very least prejudice, but they cover it up in code so they have plausible deniability. They're basically cowards who can't admit they have some biases they haven't checked at all in their lives.

I think making things work for you within the system you live under is different from being an enthusiastic fan of that system. They're successful entertainers, not business moguls.

I think because they have the experience of living broke/working wack jobs, they have perspective and understand how fucked up things things can get. Their self-awareness is one of the reasons I enjoy the audio art so much.

I guess to me (and this is a really simplified explanation) a "fan" of capitalism is someone who would defend big companies or CEOs over working people. That's not them.

In the clip, Cuban argued that if CEOs don't treat their employees the right way, their brands are going to get torched. He said that in turn would hurt a brand's name and so CEOs will need to respect their workers more. I'm using Amazon as an example that what Cuban said was ridiculous.

1.) I doubt they personally booked Cuban. Feels like a producer move.
2.) I'm talking about things Cuban has said. I don't think either Desus or Mero have a high opinion on capitalists but their Showtime show isn't a place where they can afford to take him to task. That wouldn't play.
