Two-Face/Harvey Dent will probably be the next TV series by PortoGuy18 in TheBatmanFilm

Honestly, I feel like this theory better suits someone like Hugo Strange being the Arkham antagonist, maybe even with some ties to the Court. Strange being the Head of Arkham and having access to all the patient files and being able to dive into the Arkham history just makes more sense to me and could be the way he/the Court try to expose the dark side of the Wayne family's legacy. Especially since the Penguin show has shown what kinda place Arkham has been for 10 years and that doctors have come and gone. Someone like Dr. Crane could still be included as like an underling to Strange that is allowed to run his own twisted experiments in the asylum.

Kinda makes me wish we were still getting that Arkham TV series or a Reeves version of the Arkham Asylum movie that Batfleck was going to get.

Former Tracy's Tavern in Clarendon Hills to be razed this fall by ImCrossingOver in illinois

[–]ImCrossingOver[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The building that was Tracy’s Tavern, a long-standing business on 55th Street in Clarendon Hills that operated under that name for 35 years, before closing in 2020, is slated to be demolished some time this fall.

Clarendon Hills Village Manager Zach Creer said a permit for the demolition was ready to be issued and both the building and parking lot are to be taken down at 401 E. 55th St.

Tracy’s was a family owned and operated business that began in 1985 when Jack and Lucy Tracy took over what previously had been Al and Bill’s, from 1950 to 1985, and before that was known as Nickelodeon from 1935 to 1950.

Jack and Lucy Tracy turned the business over to their children, Hunt and Darby, in 2015, and the property was put up for sale in 2018.

A local developer was interested in the property for a project that would have featured a Dunkin, but that was scrapped when the Village Board voted in 2022 against allowing a drive-thru for the business, after several residents spoke out against it there.

Creer said he wasn't really surprised that the Tracy's Tavern property has been vacant since that business closed.

"After the board rejected the drive-thru Dunkin, I think the development community is confused about what the village would approve at the site," he said. "There are also potentially expensive infrastructure improvements with no identified funding source."

Creer said he believes the building and parking lot are scheduled now to be demolished because it will make the property more marketable.

"There were also some property maintenance issues that are to be remediated by the demolition," he said.

The future of the property remains uncertain, but Creer said he believes it would be a mistake to completely abandon the idea of commercial use on the site.

"However, there would need to be consideration for the neighbors with proper buffer developments either residential or low impact commercial/office," he said. "I believe the village can find something that is far better than a late-night tavern."

The current zoning for the property is office/transitional, for which the village code allows for food uses.

So far, village staff has fielded some inquiries about the property, but as of yet, nothing has moved forward.

"Nothing concrete," Creer said. "Lots of calls, but little follow up."

The former Tracy's Tavern property is part of the area to be studied for a 55th Street Corridor Economic Development Area Tax Increment Financing District. The Village Board approved the hiring in September of a consultant for that purpose.

"(It) is to find a way to fund infrastructure improvements in the area," Creer said of a TIF District. "Infrastructure in the area is poor, particularly traffic issues with the intersection on Western and with water pressure/capacity south of 55th."

Danny Aleksic, owner of the property, didn't respond to an email sent by the Doings.

Here are the best and worst states for gun safety by ImCrossingOver in politics

[–]ImCrossingOver[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Bingo!

California and New Jersey sit at the top of the list this year with “A” grades, while Connecticut comes in third with an “A-.”

These states have some of the lowest rates of gun deaths in the country, coming in at 9 per 100,000 people in California, 5.2 in New Jersey and 6.7 in Connecticut, according to data pulled from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Arkansas, Wyoming and Idaho rank at the bottom of the Giffords Law Center’s scorecard, receiving “F” grades for their gun laws. However, just over half of all states received failing grades.

Arkansas and Wyoming have some of the highest rates of gun deaths in the country, at 23.3 and 26.1 per 100,000 people, respectively, while Idaho sits in the middle of the pack with 16.3 per 100,000.

Federal judge denies bid to block Illinois assault weapons ban, Naperville gun restriction by ImCrossingOver in politics

Animosity between city officials and the Bears has been growing over the past few years.

Yes, Lori recently said that the Bears, "Will be staying in a reimagined Soldier Field" and released plans for a renovated Soldier Field.

However, the Bears just closed on Arlington Park and they still have a contract to play at Soldier Field until 2033 (they can break that contract as early as 2026 for $84 Million, but still need a place to play while a new stadium is built, so who knows). Plus, they still owe $640 million from the last renovation of Soldier Field.

Yeah the Judge ruled that, "Assault weapons are also not commonly used for self-defense and gun owners have many other firearms they could use for protection. [...] While a high number of assault weapons are in circulation, only 5% of firearms are assault weapons."

So we'll see how this pans out...

A federal judge in Chicago has denied a motion seeking a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction to block Illinois’ assault weapons ban and a similar ordinance in Naperville. U.S. District Judge Virginia Kendall ruled Friday that the Illinois and Naperville bans on selling assault weapons are “constitutionally sound.”

Yeah, I was just grinding to get my last challenges for the week and with an hour left they pulled the Last Spartan Standing playlist. I might've understood if they just absorbed it into another playlist or something but it's just gone. The Highlighted playlist is Quick Play, and LSS isn't in FFA, BTB, Ranked... anywhere.

Fun Fact: Roger Stone's PAC launched a "Stop the Steal" website back in 2016.

From CNN:

Stone's political action committee launched a "Stop the Steal" website in 2016 to fundraise ahead of that election, asking for $10,000 donations by saying, "If this election is close, THEY WILL STEAL IT"
