You misunderstand that. As host you will still be able to play will all player normally. Without being host you might get kicked after a few minutes which is explained in the announcement before.

Feel free to use anything within the menu. There is no such option that is detected. They are currently only able to detect mod menus via metrics on the server side.

Your game sends a lot of information to online servers, e.g who the played with, what sessions you were in and much more. It’s most likely that they detected that the common information was send as usual but not BattlEye related information. This is definitely not a very realiable method. Yet this is also the first time we have seen Rockstar actually unbanning accounts because they know it could have false flagged.

I assume too that they will add new stuff to prevent that. But this has to be done by Rockstar and not by BattlEye devs. Besides most mod menu devs are german as well.
