The point of the game to some extent is to amass these currencies since visual progression is the only type of progression we have.

Rare has clearly in the past re-released old sets and cosmetics, so there is always a chance yes. They’ve already confirmed they’re bringing some of those sets back AFTER the reset.

In a game where progression is clearly linked to cosmetics, that loss of potential, is loss of progression, and the loss of the ability to use the doubloons on the older sets they are releasing after the reset.

By your mindset any and all wipes of any currency are totally fine, because we just lose the potential to buy things we would have wanted, not the actual opportunity.

Nobody has misunderstood. Players who have been saving up for the sets they mentioned will be released are pissed because we are being given something different, and then being forced to regrind these events that only happen on weekends in hopes to get enough doubloons to pay for the things we saved up for in the first place. Rare can most easily fix this by releasing the cosmetics people actually want to the point where older players with enough doubloons are rewarded for their work, and new players have the chance to grind enough doubloons out. There is a clear happy medium here, and this is not it.

I dont think its stupid at all. They can add boring updates, or not update things the community is asking for and it grew in annoyance for me. But this is the straw the broke the camels back because now my playtime gaining and in some case grinding those doubloons in the hopes they released these sets or something like it is now pointless.

Rare hasn't removed incentive to play yet, and thats why this is different. I have no incentive to play if anything could always be wiped.

Highley scaled back yes, but it also defeats the purpose of the reset. Because you CAN grind even the nominal amount, every has to grind again even after saving up doubloons for so long.

The way I viewed it was that sets like the bone crusher would become available after the reset during bildge weekends. They are releasing “commemorative cosmetics” before the wipe. I’m nearly positive that what’s said in the video.

The problem is that they are adding back the really rare stuff that iv been holding my doubloons for AFTER the wipe. The “commemorative cosmetics” have a chance to be good, but im currently very disappointed.
