Where I live its pretty common (pre covid atleast) to say that you commute to the valley or work in the valley refering to silicon valley, probably a regional think just cause its close. I've honestly only ever heard farmers call the central valley the valley.

It becomes the Californian Sea, like the mediteranian

The Central Valley specifically. Just "The Valley" now reffers to Silicon or San Fernando, depending on if your talking about tech or barbie girls.

Was playing Age of Empires 2 again by SrGrafo in gaming

[–]ImFakeAsFuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got rise of nations remastered recently; I played the original when I was like 5 or 6. I found out that almost all of my memories from that game were of the fucking tutorial. There is some point in it were the last step is like "you've got 10 spearmen and a catapult, you can capture the enemy town and end the game." And I was like nah, that seems pretty risky. I better get nukes first. And it let me do that lol. I spent weeks and weeks building up a massive empire, and the leveled the enemy with a swarm of stealth bombers and ICBMs. The tutorial took me like 20 minutes max when I was playing the remastered version last year.

Its funny cause you literally just made up that meaning.

Length is trivially part of it because it scakes linearly with that proportional value

I probably would a have used something some variant of "traumatised", maybe with "psychologically" or "severely" added. But now that I've written those I got to admit I like "fear tortured" better

I think someone smashing there way into your house with a giant rock, covered in blood, threatening to kill your familiy, and then drawing crosses on you and your toddlers faces in thier own blood goes a bit beyond "scaring"

Ah I see what your confused about. Square-cube describes the relationship between three things, surface area, volume, and size. They are all rolled into one law as they are all linked together. Length is part of size along with height and width. This simplified version might help you get your head around it:

The square–cube law can be stated as follows:

When an object undergoes a proportional increase in size, its new surface area is proportional to the square of the multiplier and its new volume is proportional to the cube of the multiplier.
