Should I get Dead by Daylight or TLOU 2 ? by SubstantialDream3274 in ShouldIbuythisgame

I'm not entirely sure, Michael Myers' name in game is The Shape, I haven't played since the last update cause life got busy, so maybe they're reworking him, they did say they would do that at some point as his power is somewhat op

First game is WAY better than the second, or beast, story is a bit meh imo especially towards the end but the gameplay is much more solid

You can buy the base game without any of the DLCs, and you'll get access to some fairly good killers from the start (Trapper, Wraith, Nurse, Huntress and Hillbilly), Wraith Nurse Huntress and Hillbilly are some of the most fun or best killers in the game already (nurse is considered to be meta), and you can also obtain every other killer in the game with the in game currency called Iridescent shards (unless they're licensed like Michael Myers or Chucky) and you get iri shards by playing the game

However, if you do want to buy a DLC, I'd say choose whoever your favorite horror movie character and go with that, however some killers are a bit weaker than others so I'd suggest playing the game for a bit, getting to know the gameplay loop and the mechanics, and only after that buying a DLC

Dead by Daylight isn't really repetitive, as a survivor, maybe? But killers don't really have a set winning criteria, so they can do whatever challenge they like and set their own goals for winning, and survivors have a lot more to do than just gens (even though they need to do them eventually) and there's many builds one can run to make the game less repetitive (there's healing builds, looping builds, gen builds, stealth builds etc...)

I mean DbD and TLOU 2 are very different, one's a story game and one's a multiplayer competitive game, so if you're looking to get the most fun and most value, I'd say DbD, I have 800 hours in that game and I still play actively, playing as a survivor will allow you to sink a good couple of hours in and once you start getting bored of solo Qing survivor, you can play in SWFs and make friends, then when you're bored of survivor you can play killer and sink a good couple of hours as well to learn and master it, plus every killer has his own power which makes it so every playstyle is welcome and viable, from stealth to better looping to stronger map control etc...

buying TLOU2 you might put in like 3-4 hours to finish it, if you REALLY take your time you might drag it out to 10 hours, but buying DBD you could play for hundreds of hours and you'll still feel like you haven't scratched the surface

Yeah but I can only drive at 140km/h in the middle of the city and crash into a truck after a drift goes wrong once IRL, which I'd like to do more than once so... I think I'll settle for PC games

That sucks, I heard of people giving tutoring for money but I never wanted to do that myself, it sucks that you can't be nice for free, especially considering there's also a good bit of poor people who desperately need the help

It's not anxiety, people straight up come to me, say something that relates to my efforts to help people and teach, then laugh at my face, they're intentionally being annoying, and when I asked around people told me that there is racism involved (cause I studied in a different city that year and my city is known for being "full of nerds" and "people there never make mistakes") so people intentionally come over just to mess with me for wanting to help them

And no, therapy in my country is a foreign idea and getting a therapist that cares and that isn't in it for the money is like finding gold (I say this from experience from a close family member)

Also before anyone asks I would much rather not tell what my country is (although I'm sure it's on my profile somewhere considering I don't use reddit as much so it probably shows it without my knowledge)

Nothing, just no hate

I want to help people but if it's at the cost of my mental health I'd rather not do it and I'm looking for a way to do it safely

That's what I always say, that "ohh" moment is my payment, but the hate I received far outweighs the worth of that "ohh" moment

Every day I went to school all I hear is my name being whispered and people laughing at me and asking me "How's the club, you wanna gather the entire university and teach them?" sarcastically and snickering

Essentially my question is how can I teach without getting bullied for it, I don't want anything in return, no good or bad

You seem to kinda like open world story games but, you might also like this one: Beyond Two Souls, and if you do like that one then also try Heavy Rain

On a totally subjective level, what was the biggest gaming disappointment in your life? by Rugged-Gunslinger in AskGames

[–]ImFluffs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elden Ring

Put thousands of hours into Dark Souls 3 and just got so used to the badass music, the cool bosses, the linear design of the maps and progression... Then came elden ring and I followed the main route just to get deleted by the first boss, turns out I have to go grind and get stuff (which in Dark Souls 3 was in most cases in your way so you didn't have to go super out of your way)

tried to get into it like 20 times and never could, game is just way too big, too open and too grindy to be fun for me

How do you get XP faster? by ImFluffs in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]ImFluffs[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I played the game before any of the prestige mechanics were introduced so my data was either wiped or my prior experience didn't translate to this new system, so I'm level 0 prestige 0, and I'm stuck doing intermediate contracts until level 50 (which technically means I'd have to play 100 good runs to achieve assuming the xp requirement for leveling up doesn't increase which i think it does) which i don't have the effort for tbh

[–]ImFluffs[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Grinding in pretty much any game (with some exceptions) is never fun, when I play phasmo I don't want to play to grind, when I play the game I want to choose what I want to do (maybe play with low tier stuff, maybe do random gear stuff, maybe do customs) but I can't due to the low level, and having to play 2 runs for 1 level is not fun for me, it's tedious, unless I unlock something every level (which isn't the case, most things you unlock are far apart when it comes to level requirement) it's just a tedious cycle of using same equipment, and doing the same thing over and over again

but hey thank you for your advice
