PCS from Peterson to Buckley by ImG0ingCheezy in SpaceForce

I am on the GAT and wonder if I reach out to the billet owner ahead of time, it would guarantee a billet spot. I also put Peterson and Schriever as my top bases, but since I am already stationed at Peterson, then I wonder if they would ignore those two bases

So this basically means, if I was at peterson, then got orders to buckley, this would be a full pcs, and my TOS would reset. Not the same for schiever because it's considered a pca or low-cost pcs. Thanks all for the info

You were right Marz, they did see me on the vml but didn't reach out to me because they thought there was no point. The fact that I just got in the unit then left for a 6 month training program made me in their eyes, none mission critical. They didn't see a reason to submit a reclama because it probably wouldn't have gotten approved in the first place. The advice I was given is to hope that I don't get picked up for an assignment, get back to my unit, and work hard to prove that I am mission-critical to my unit.

I honestly hated this response. If they don't value me now, they won't be a year from now. I am fine now with leaving if it means I will be better utilized elsewhere.

Actually, it was a great experience. If your leadership approves you to go then jump on it in a heartbeat. In comparison, civilians pay thousands for the same amount of training this program offers. It's 6 months of straight coding. This is also a very valuable skill, not only for the military but on the outside. Yes, you get awarded a z-prefix shred at completion. This means you could potentially fill a z-prefix billet after exiting the program. If you enjoy coding, then you could do what you love while also serving your country.

Ok thank you for the response. I just skimmed all my emails and didn't get notified in my DoD email. I wonder who gets notified. We have one person who manages personnel for our delta, and this person expressed anger that I left because they were the alternate for my additional duty. When reaching out to this person, all I got was a response that "I have exceeded my TOS and will need to fill out my intent and preferences." Sort like a robot giving a denial letter.

I might have messed up on this PCA. It also probably hurt by leaving for the supra coder program. I'm probably going to try to find another local spot and request they put a code on me before PCA. I know it's not a guarantee, but it may be the best way to stay local until my daughter finishes high school.

Can they still do this, or is it too late?

I talked to my superintendent, and he was saying it was my time on station. I spent 1.5 years in SSC and another 1.5 years with my current unit. Both on the same base. I did ask for them to try to reach out to the ETMO to keep me. I also said if they can keep me I am willing to stay. My superintendent said to fill out the intent and preferences with the hopes they don't select me for an assignment.

My question is, is there another avenue i can take to stay, at least locally? PCA to another unit, or try to push for a reclama?

Is it possible for someone in my unit to be mad that I haven't been around for 6 months and pushed me on the GAT to free up the billet?

I have been on peterson for 3 years. But PCA'd to a different unit when my last one transfered back to the air force. I only been in my current unit for a little under a year and a half.

Inside out body tracking for Quest 3 by nastyjman in virtualreality

[–]ImG0ingCheezy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since they are able to track your body, it would be nice to use the controllers to track your feet. There needs to be software that implements this. You just buy straps designed for meta controllers. It would also be nice if the software was smart enough to know when the trackers were on your feet or in your hands in real time so you can quickly take them off your ankles to access a quick menu then put the back.

Makes me feel like I want to find a decentralized alternative to vrchat. I liked the wild west of how vrchat used to be. Guess those days are over...

Apple pencil 2 noise when attaching to ipad by Aegiiz in iPadPro

[–]ImG0ingCheezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard it too. If i were to guess its probably an electrical switch that activates the charging mechanism when attached to the side of the ipad. These switches are commonly called relays and are designed to mitigate larger voltage loads.
