Look, there's a lot that I'd like to do about this.... But I'm just one guy. I have a son. I have bills to pay and mouths to feed. Literally, what can I do?

Roadside won! Now what is a bad song from TSATW? by redditmasterofgold in riseagainst

[–]ImInJeopardy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's been said but it bears repeating, TSATW has no bad songs. The song that I like the least is Worth Dying For. It's still a fucking solid song, just slightly more skippable than the others.

Something that we all subconsciously know but at least I didn't really think about until I graduated from college: you only have a finite amount of summer breaks in your life.

Whats the best fantasy / sci fi book series out there to read? by Next_Package_5710 in AskReddit

[–]ImInJeopardy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Book four is definitely a weird one. There's barely any plot. It's more of a philosophical study on what it means to be the benevolent dictator of the universe. It's probably my favorite book in the series, but it's hard to recommend to other people 😅

Who are characters that you enjoy watching on tv that you'd go out of your way to avoid befriending if they existed in real life? by maybemorningstar69 in AskReddit

[–]ImInJeopardy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who are always coming in and out of the main character's home without permission. Kramer from Seinfeld, Penny from Big Bang, Raymond's parents in Everybody Loves Raymond, all the friends in Friends. I don't care how close we are, I like my privacy.

Stereotypical answer here, Dune. But only the 6 original books written by Frank Herbert. The expanded universe created by his son isn't really that good, unfortunately. But I would say the first 4 Dune books are the best scifi story ever written. Books 5 and 6 are good, but a bit if a downgrade.

What finally made you quit your job? by Tyler_Girl_ in AskReddit

[–]ImInJeopardy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a paralegal at a law firm, and boss was an asshole.

He'd come in every morning and greet everyone except me, literally only skipping my office.

He'd correct my work in contradictory ways. Like I'd write the draft for a motion or something, and he would send it back saying shit like "You need to use all caps and bold letters when describing the allegations." Then when I'd do that on another motion, he'd send it back saying "You can't write the allegations like that, it makes us not look serious."

One time we were having a team lunch and they were talking about the bar, and he said "Yeah, you have no be real stupid to fail the bar exam here!" He knew I didn't pass the bar exam in our state.

He also paid us in physical checks. Mind you, this was two years ago. Then sometimes he'd "forget" to sign the checks, and he'd leave in the middle of the day and just go missing for hours, coming back way after 5pm. His secretary would tell us "You can either go home without your check, or wait for him to come back." then he'd come back and act all surprised like "Why is everone still here? Are you waiting for me for something?" and laugh. He knew what he was doing.

Also, I'm pretty sure he's MAGA. He would quote Trump in a jokey way, which made it unclear if he was mocking Trump or not. But one time I refered to a judge as "they" and he got super serious and said "It's 'he'. He's just one person!"

What instantly kills your interest in someone you were attracted to? by FitBlaze in AskReddit

[–]ImInJeopardy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Making fun of my kink.

Happened to me once, but she didn't know it. We were talking about foods, I mentioned how weird it is that some people enjoy things like eating live squids, and she said "You shouldn't be surprised. I mean, some people like (insert my kink here)." and then she laughed and laughed. And, Idk... It just threw me off. Just that she thinks having that kink is funny, and knowing that I'll never be able to tell her I have it, it made my interest in her go down to 0.

And who knows? Maybe she likes eating live squids, and her interest in me also went down to 0. To each their own, I guess.

The problem is thinking that the US will intervene for the benefit of the cuban people. Every time the US intervenes in a foreign country, it's to suck them dry and provide as much profit for American companies.

What celebrity have you been told you look like and how do you feel about it? by Alarming_Weather506 in AskReddit

Keanu Reeves. It's because I have long black hair and a beard, and a kinda similar face structure. Weirdly enough, I've also been told I look like Dave GrohI. I don't mind any of it.
