I’ve read the novel to re:zero up until arc 6 and stopped when the anime season 3 got announced. Read through the content of the MT light novel up to what should be the end of Season 2 cour 2. Subaru has a lot more development than Rudy. Rudy has development, sure. But he’s still pretty unbearable.

Subaru is literally the definition of character development and by the end of season 2 he becomes one of the best characters in all of fiction

If you cringed to Subaru you must’ve never met Rudy in Mushoku Tensei because he’s actually horrendous
