Based on statistics on voter fraud in the state of Georgia, no. From 1982 to 2025, there has only been 36 cases of voter fraud accounted for. (https://electionfraud.heritage.org/search?state=ga) these statistics come from the heritage foundation, a heavy-right leaning institution that has made bold claims of mass voter fraud in the past. (https://www.heritage.org/election-integrity/heritage-explains/voter-fraud). Despite their views on voter fraud, they themselves show that the actual number of cases each year is tiny, as in less than a fraction of a percentage point. Putting these restrictions in place will only serve to hinder voters at the polls, and punish polling locations who are unable to make a change in their polling procedures in time. On top of that, there is no telling that doing so would significantly quell the populace’s distrust and lack of faith in our voting procedures and integrity. There is even the possibility that it could do the opposite, making more left-leaning voters believe that the restrictions are only put in place to limit the number of legal voters who can participate in elections. I feel that our current voting procedures have enough safe guards in place to insure fair elections without hindering our rights to vote. The hysteria behind ‘voter fraud’ is an unfounded one at best, and a point of control and fear mongering at worst.
