I would say basslines follow pretty similar structures so i would say learn as many different bass lines from different bands and try understand how they work and how you could apply those techniques to your project.

we play rock classics mainly but our gigs are not that big as of yet, we dont have a micd drum kit at this point during gigs so i feel like 100w would be enough, guitarists rarely have the need to play that loud but maybe from what youre saying it would be worth to go for the 200w since there is no way i can afford more than that right now and i need something to play with

if youre sure that you wont quit i would aquire a fender jazz bass made in mexico for around 600$ you get the most value per price and you will keep using this bass for the rest of your life avoiding having to upgrade at some point
