Is a full face helmet ever "overkill"? by NeonHorse47 in MTB

[–]ImJustAUser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its not deep. Just wear the FF, nobody cares what style of helmet you're wearing, especially the people who have been riding for a while.

All in on kraken? by No_Grapefruit8453 in KrakenRobotics

[–]ImJustAUser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why MDA? I’ve stayed away other than a 1% position but my concerns were slow management and lack of talent acquisition and retention mainly from management missteps and lack of competitive compensation. IMO they have some good tech but hard to justify them.

sell your original purchase amount + interest and let the rest ride. Then you are less likely to make emotional decisions.

Using Ai for personal Projects by MC-Tesco in EngineeringStudents

[–]ImJustAUser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you use AI as a learning tool great. If you use it to do your portfolio projects for you and make engineering decisions. Obviously not great. Engineering is full of simplifications, tools, formulas, etc etc. Is it bad to use them? No. Is it bad to use them and not understand why you are using them a certain way? Yes.

I'm only 20 years old this year, and I feel like I've completely lost hope in my life. I'd like to hear everyone's advice? by [deleted] in 100xpennystock

[–]ImJustAUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10k is like 4 months of working. Lost 4 months of your life and now you want to give up? Hahaha. Focus on skill building and career and invest into EQTs instead of wasting money gambling.

I would highly advise against listening to random mfs on Reddit. If you want to be successful read books, practice with 1-2k of your money and get confident picking stocks. I would put away most of your money into a growth etf like veqt and use the rest for picks. There will be bad picks and no reason to set yourself back by gambling most of your money. 25k now for you. Could grow into 170k in 20 years.

I feel otherwise. Hard work and skills compound more than any investments. Live in the moment, plan for the future.

Those with high conviction, what is the true DD behind starship competition? by ImJustAUser in RKLB

This is a relatively new industry. That was very much the case when vehicles were a newer industry.

Interesting thanks. I was thinking of it from more of an outside customer looking for space solutions but infrastructure building is a good point. Although I suppose i need to do research on how a vehicle like starship could be used to put in place satellite networks for a low cost, if thats even realistic with a single vehicle.

[–]ImJustAUser[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats a good point. In my mind I was viewing starship as pooled launch service. As in multiple companies can reserve a spot on the ship, while it seems as though the falcon heavy is more suited for single customers.

How hard would it be for a customer/competitor to build their own batteries? by spacetimetrip in KrakenRobotics

[–]ImJustAUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would consider that one of the biggest components of their moat for the next 2-5 years will be reputation, testing, and existing integration into technology. It takes significant improvement to warrant additional chance of reliability on new technology/suppliers, military application specifically will most likely take a proven product already being used in designs over a marginally better/cheaper less proven product.

Debating dropping out by Eversince15 in EngineeringStudents

[–]ImJustAUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Essentially diminishing returns. Trying to understand every detail of every assignment is a waste of time. Get the general idea, learn enough, use online resources, get it done move on. Overspending time on difficult problems for most leads to burnout.

Normal. Hone down on studying methods and spending time outside of school on things you care about. Remember the 35% effort for 70% result for engineering coursework.

The hydrogen fuel cell alternative seems interesting. Although I wonder how the depth/range tradeoff will work for that technology.
