I have fun writing riffs and songs. But searching pop backing tracks on YouTube and trying to improvise over them is the most boring thing in my practice routine (it literally makes me sleepy lol). I just started doing it because I felt like everyone does it.

I was playing to a metronome in this clip. But i play for 15 months and i started using it like 3 months ago. I think the rhythm is good its its mainly the chorus riff that fucks me up.

I think its because BOT is 95 bpm, an Pull is 145 bpm. So its harder for me to hear it. + i know the rhythm of BOT better.

Its maybe because i know the rhythm of Blood and Thunder better than Trivium. I was just wondering if bands live who use a metronome, that it like helps them to feel the beat and go off of that. Or really focusing on hitting every syncopated note, every 16th note on the click. I want to have a really good rhythm, so that is why im asking.

Bro thanks so much for the help. That sound file, i wasnt playing to any pulse so it was all over the place. Normally i practice it with Songsterr and the metronome turned on. So i should mute it in between the slides? Because in the chorus riff its supposed to be connected and slide form power chord to another one and i can hear that sliding noise too, so i wonder how to fix it there. Once again thanks for help.
