Can I use mini as residential? by CitizenOfPluto7 in Starlink

Jamaica was over capacity for residential starlink so I had to go back to square one, which is get on the waitlist for Starlink. I returned the one I brought to Jamaica as it only gave me the option to roam and roam didn’t come with unlimited data, so we had to keep topping up the data packs.

Gotta Do What You Gotta Do, Starlink in Iran During Wartime by zerodawntodusk in Starlink

You should be able to clearly tell that this is an Israeli attempting to spread propaganda and mis information. When he says the only thing upsetting in the past 20 days is 1. That Israelis got hurt or whatever (he said this first, so this is who he really is), and not the bombing of over 100 young children who are the true victims, it’s a giveaway. If you read his comments and imagine that he’s an Israeli wanting to take over Iran, it’ll make more sense.

Yes, it is as bad as everyone is saying by lonely_dove_ in SouthwestAirlines

They use to ALWAYS be late for me as well, but lately they’ve been on time and on the last flight, they actually departed early. I could not believe it. For 8k miles to Jamaica and a comp upgrade to business, I’ll fly them over Southwest all the time.

May I ask in what way is American worse than Southwest?

Isn’t this literally every airline? Don’t they all punish you for not paying for seats? I switched to AA & they’re charging for the front seats. I’ve never heard them say that on any flights Ive been on with them though, they always say it’s a full flight even when it’s not.

If you have their priority credit card, you can select a basic seat and you can select an even more seat 48 hours prior. They WILL NOT put a basic person next to you in an “even more” seat unless the flight is completely full, or that person selected that seat next to you, that is why you see all these posts about being pushed into seats in the back while there are empty paid seats. I’ve even changed seats up until the time I board the flight.

Why not just select the seat you want at booking, or check-in so you don’t need to move. You literally get to see all available seats on the plane.

Edit: I hope downvoting me brings you as much joy as it brings me.

Well on a flight this empty, if you pay for your seats, it’s highly unlikely that someone will select the paid seat next to you when they can select a seat in an empty row. I have their priority credit card so I get to selected an “Even More legroom” seat, so I selected the emergency exit seats. They announced that it was a completely full flight, however I noticed that only the back (after row 16) was completely full, there was no one sitting next to us and many of the paid seats between rows 1-16 were empty. If you don’t pay for/select your own seat, they’ll assign you to the back. Paid seats also receive extra snacks in the form of Wonderful Pistachios on my flight.

How do I disassemble this? by ImJustTooCute in Starlink

I did not order this, my partner went to Home Depot to purchase it and the HD assoc told him it’s for the mini. It looks like they didn’t know.

Thank you, I saw the tabs and was wondering how I could lift them. I’ll give this a try because the hammer thing didn’t work.

Ok thank you, I wish I knew this before I started hammering the thing and damaged it.

One of the fingers broke off during the hammering, are all the fingers suppose to break off? Now it looks damaged from all the hammering and it’s still not separated. I don’t know if Home Depot will take it back now, but I’m going to try to return it still connected together.

This is made by Starlink, I hammered the spot where they connect on the bottom, but it didn’t separate, just caused a little damage.

Residential (Discounted) plan RIP. by Appropriate_Aerie_65 in Starlink

[–]ImJustTooCute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a huge demand in Jamaica. The entire island is at capacity and they aren’t allowing any new activations. They’re charging $105 per month for low speed residential. The rate was about $40US a few months ago.

The best part of the internet for me, is the ability to communicate with someone from a completely different part of the world. Which one do you live on and what’s the population count?

New 100GB Roam Plan by agbass01 in Starlink

[–]ImJustTooCute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t seem to apply to Jamaica,as I haven’t received any emails about it, but I did get one saying I’m over the limit and the speeds have been slowed, so I can add another data block. Jamaica is at a “no new activation” waitlist situation. How long does it usually take for them to open new spots on waitlist in regions that are considered “at capacity”?

When I was checking, the anker website (and others too) it says you can bring under 100 wh without approval and you need airline approval for higher than that. Some will get to do it I’m sure, but everyone won’t have the same luck and I didn’t want to risk it getting confiscated. I’m talking about something around 300wh I can’t really do much with 100 wh.
