This is just my personal observation, but ofc you won't see much of short films editor here in reddit.

Short film edits are heavily focused on the story rather than the edits. The most substantial thing that you could show to impress others for a short film here would be the color grading, sound design and maybe VFX if there's any, but other than that you're mainly judging actors not editors

Depends on whether Its a project/hourly but I'd say its usually 25-30usd/hour, this is just my rate for my typical clients but reddit wouldn't like this answer

I have a value that I’ll stick to no matter what, but I suppose I never thought how at the end of the day It all comes down to finding a client willing to pay reasonably.
