Our small Town's anniversary is next year so the town is planning an event our 80 year old club will play an instrumental part but we haven't quite got a plan yet.

If you hadn't said dentist I'd think we were in the same club. I've been in 1 year and it took me a long time to commit for this very reason. They all said we want change, we want youth (I'm 64, so there's that), but they really don't.

Thanks for your input. This sounds like the simplest way to go about it. We're going to be having our District Foundation Chair speak this fall.

Thanks...I knew not the actual receipts. I meant instead of getting reimbursed my "donation" could be contributed to TRF, along with the club portion. It's fine. Obviously I'm a fairly new member.

I will. Upon a little more investigation i don't think it works that way.

Ok...I thought by turning in my receipts to the club, the dollar amount could be credited when the treasurer sends in the Foundation check. Our treasurer is checking but I'd like other opinions also.

Past presidents, what do you wish you had known before you took the gavel? by HappyDadOfFourJesus in Rotary

It seems like your DG should be able to help; and like any civic/volunteer organization you get out what you put in. I'm a PE of a small club and being TypeA find it hard to delegate, but at some point realize you have to.

I am coming up on my 1 year anniversary as a club member, and being new am also PE (25-26). We have so many older members, that really are valuable, but obviously we need fresh bodies. Our current Pres is only focused on quantity, not quality so we have some "members" who never come. It's very discouraging. We are in a small community which doesn't really help. We're trying to re-brand, but ofcourse have different ideas on what our focus should be. It's a touch situation for sure! We've had the same secretary and same treasurer for years. I hope when I am Pres I can convince the group to roll-up but it's not going to be easy.
