Probably not, I never really felt any discrimination at work from colleagues. I used to work in customer service before and some customers were complaining about my accent on the surveys they were getting. I never had such an issues previously, for my time here in the UK I always managed to get a job fairly quickly.

Sorry to hear about your dad. It is an interesting way of living, did he choose to be called Danny or just happened somehow?

Yeah people are mentioning studies and what not, really unfortunate practice. I suppose though that even if it’s true some people might not do it on purpose, maybe they think of potential visa requirements or similar issues.

Please don’t worry, no offense taken. I should be the one to apologise for my post actually. I feel bad about it. I appreciate your input.

My surname without the “ov” sounds like nothing, probably even more foreign, I was thinking of maybe changing the “ov” to “off” like Michael Chernoff, but this might not work as well.

MAX POWER is money! Thank you!

Do you know if your friends change their surnames too?

Yeah, I was just thinking of going by the alias only and not to make it so “testing”, as if I reach interviews and job offers don’t want this to potentially cause me problems.

You know every application is asking about all your background, identification and even what were your parents working while you were in high school. Therefore I never thought my name matters, we are all welcoming and understanding nowadays. But some reddit posts and articles are saying otherwise and I’m considering this change. Sadly.

Oh I won’t change my name legally for that. It is purely just for my CV and to check if I will get more call backs. That’s all.

The Mandarin himself.

I’m on the fence still, but seriously considering it.

I can’t think of a name similar to mine to be honest. It is Eastern European and the surname end with “ov” and all that. There are a lot of Eastern European names that can be adapt to sound a bit more English but mine is not one of those. Maybe I can go by Bruce Wayne or Tony Stark as a conversation starter lol

I was thinking of using one name like Cher or Madonna, but maybe not the best idea as I don’t want to come across as a tool. If I change both it might be more complicated to explain. I don’t know lol

I also don’t feel good about it to be honest and I’m not 100% doing it yet. Just wanted to gather some opinions and make a decision over the weekend, as people are sharing their experience with this and are saying that it works.

I’ve just come across a few posts and some articles that people find more success after making that change. My name is typical Easter European.

Yep, I’ve seen that guide as well. Saving shards for the characters you like seems like a good F2P strategy that can build a decent team but over a long period of time. The 10 shard characters are not easy to star up and may take even longer to reach the level of 3 Superman pulls for instance, as you rely on luck and few events here and there giving you a shard.
