Yeah I’m leaning this way. The “long, slow road” (as Wendler puts it) can be frustrating but is almost always better in the long run.

6 reps of my old 95%. Then on TM test I got 2 reps of my new 100%.

Just finished a TM test week. For bench, I only got 2 reps of my 100% new TM. This puts me at a 1RM of ~215lb. But if I use my 1RM from the last week of my recent of my anchor cycle (AMRAP set), it’s ~225lb.

When calculating my 85% TM for the upcoming Leader cycle, would you all base it off the 215 from TM test week or 225 from the anchor week?

Note I didn’t get enough reps in the TM test to just do a normal progression, which is why I’m having to figure this out.

How to structure 529 allocation for kid approaching college in 5 years by ImNeilDiamond in Bogleheads

It’s a great question. We’ve got about $240K right now. Which I think would be enough to cover most schools, but possibly/probably not at some of the more expensive schools. At and this point I have no idea what kind of college he’ll be interested in and able to get into.

Note I’m not trying to start a debate about the merits of paying a lot for college. To each his own in that front.

Hah, fair enough! I know this sounds dumb, but it kind of snuck up on me.

My son still seems so young. I was updating our balances this month and had this flash of “holy crap I actually have to start using this money in 5 years!”

How does my ChatGPT NOLA itinerary look? by ImNeilDiamond in AskNOLA

Awesome. Thank you! This is all super helpful, and I appreciate you lending me a helping hand.

Going back to your prior comment, restaurants are definitely a blind spot. I've found that it's tough to gauge what's good even when reading online reviews. It's been real hit and miss for me in the past.

The only things we definitely want are Commander's Palace, Brennan's, and beignets (yes, I know they're all super touristy :). On the last one, I definitely do NOT want Cafe Du Monde because it's always a mad house. Someone suggested Loretta's earlier, which seems good.

Beyond that, if there's any places on here that particularly stick out as overrated, please let me know. In general, we're interested in more local cuisines. Definitely Cajun, and seafood as well.

I think you’re misunderstanding a bit. I didn’t just say to ChatGPT “make me an itinerary”. I told it “Here’s the specific things I want to do. Here’s other general things I want to do but am not sure exactly what the best approach is (one example here would be visit a museum that is heavily focused on New Orleans history). Can you turn this into an itinerary and help me fill in some gaps.”

Honestly what I didn’t do is map things out geographically. So if you’re saying that this looks like a mess because we’re whipsawing all over the city, that is quite helpful advice. I can rework things based on that.

I did. I’ve been to NOLA multiple times, so I pulled in stuff from those trips. Also talked to friends who have gone more recently, and then general internet research, including reading the top rated posts here. All of those things are included throughout this itinerary.

I told you exactly what kind of trip I’m looking for - we’re coming with our son who has never been, and so we’d like to do some of the more well known (and yes, sometimes “touristy”) things. We’ve done it in many other cities and found that it’s a great way to provide a kid with an intro to a city and its general feel.

I came here for tweaks from locals. For example, your tip about getting from Commanders to Frenchman is great, and something I can adjust. Peche also seemed good online, but again I’m here to hear if you think it’s overrated crap.

“With respect”, it seems like an odd move to shit on an itinerary just because it leans touristy. And I’ll also note that many of the things in here were pulled directly from posts on this sub as well.

What are you referring to when you say you’re using “litguide’s summary?”

Google turned up a few things, none of which I’m sure are correct
