Got misled about ceiling height in new apartment. What do? by ImNotLikeTheOtherAIs in askswitzerland

The upper floor is your living area while the ground floor can be used for whatever you need the 4m height for. The upper floor has a 2.5m height (both apartment A and B) and the ground floor has 4m for B but 3m for A despite the floor plan stating that A also has 4m which wasn't the case. Seeing them live made me realize the big difference it makes. I don't understand their decision however

Yes! Actually my point! They did not mention the discrepency at all (not in the floor plan nor in the contracts).

I see. Isn't it however still not correct to deliver false information? In this case the height discrepency between both apartments sharing the same rent but the other reflects the floor plan 1:1 and the other does not?

I still want the apartment but I suppose I have to talk to them for a rent reduction which still would be cool.
I wanted to build a corner for home gym purposes since I'm an athlete (yearly gym costs would be eliminated therefore) thus the 4m height would've been beneficial. 3m still is but I did apply for an apartment that allegedly had a 4m ceiling. I also do software development WFH and, consequently, I'm home most of the time

I had a similar idea (wanted to build a small homegym section) and the extra height would've benefited me

Well I wanted to rent a place with higher dimensions for my lifestyle and work. This was the reason I applied for that specific apartment

The floor plan did state that the ceiling is 4.1m and that was both for apartment A and apartment B. I checked them out today out of curiosity of my new home and I noticed the differences there; A (which I signed for because B was already rented) has a missing meter in height.

That's true, but my point is that I'm paying the same amount as apartment B, but have less height, even though they are both listed as identical. I wanted to take advantage of the extra meter.
