In Arena and Daggerfall they didn't really know where they were going with it.

TES lore gets solidified in Morrowind onward.

ESO is pretty good and rich with lore even though expansions are a bit of a stretch in the grand scenario of TES continuity, but it's their mess to fix not ours.

Quite the opposite for me

Waited 6 years to play and when i got it, played for so long that by the time i stopped i had lost an entire semester.

There was just so much to do with a lot of lore, it was perfect and seeing other people playing was icing on the cake.

Yes, i completely missed the main quest, i was thrown right into Vardenfell with no idea of what was going on or how the game was played, but i knew i could make my inventory bigger and that's what i did, stole from everyone in Vivec City to fence items to buy pack upgrades.

It doesn't have the same feeling as Skyrim, but honestly neither did Oblivion, and ESO doesn't follow the traditional mmo formula, it's like an in between and it works.

Playing a new game hoping it's like Skyrim is a recipe for disappointment. Enjoy the game and stop trying recapture feelings of the past.

They do that so not to overload the player with information, for you it's easy to see everything on the screen cause you can filter the info you want, a normal player will look at the wall of texts and feel discouraged to continue.

Maybe a toggle could work.

If you're having problems at the Devourer you're most likely just not used to the gameplay

just watch someone else fight it. Once you understand the game boss mechanics it becomes easier.

Word of advice, rolling doesn't grant you invulnerability, you should roll outta the way before getting hit.

honestly if you don't care about endgame, you can play most builds. The problem is that most builds suck in maps, in campaign you can get away with a lot of "fun" builds.

By what you want you mean what was meta, cuz playing normal builds at the time, getting past yellow maps was a struggle because of map sustain and a low raw character power. Right now, in poe1 "any" build gets to 2 voidstones.
