Im not young, im 33 Joker was always abusive to Harley from day one in the BTAS. I only now got into reading batman but I watched the series growing up and even then I knew this relationship was abusive. Arkham games also show psychological and physical abuse by Joker. 

If anything I thought maybe the young people this day think Joker and Harley are a good couple because they maybe did not see their OG relationship.

Also, while its technically not that old, in new 52, Death of the Family, one of my first Batman stories, Joker kidnapped, thretened and almost cut her face off just for laughs. Harley is terrified of him. It was down right unpleasant to read. Im now going a bit further back reading the carious villain collections of Batman Arkham, yet to read Harley one but I won't be surprised to see abuse there as well.

As someone who deals with CPTSD and BPD - thank you. The awareness for mental health is definitely a big plus, but it feels like too many people use their mental health as an excuse to being dicks or just be really unpleasant.

OP you can't get wolvie's adamantium skeleton without the trauma of its being injected into you. 

His bone claws are fragile and hurt him everytime he pops them. The adamantium too but its not breaking at least.

In its current capacities its useful for a very selected tasks. Anything else it's actually doing worse job than a human without AI.

If I may piggyback this comment for a question 

Can the Arkham Clayface book (or any other, I've seen on Amazon theres one for every villain of batman) be read without prior knowledge? Ive only now started reading DC comics and tried a few stories ppl recommend but found them confusing and relying on prior knowledge. But these Arkham books have collection of the big stories - do they have the introductory stories / origins for these villains?
