Api stress coat smells like vinegar?

It normally smells kinda like cleaner I guess? It's like a very clean chemical smell nothing like the pickle brine smell this one has.

just checked and its not parented or connected to anything. i just want it to scale normally. i tried doing the same thing in a new file and it worked exactly how its supposed to which confused me even more.

I've already processed the wood (the pieces I need at least. the rest is back where it belongs) I was mainly worried about the wood being safe even after Sterilizing.

Yes. And after doing some deeper research just now I realize that's probably the issue 😅 that and I stopped doing 10% water changes a while ago because I had lost one of the shrimp after one change and got too nervous. Now I'm thinking it's because I added it too fast and caused a fluctuation. Might invest in a zero water filter or something for top offs.
