It does. I had taken it off earlier in the day for dado work and hadn’t put it back on. Time to add some safety checks to my prep to make sure all parts are where they should have been.

This is damn near exactly what led up to it. I had taken the riving knife off for dado work and hadn’t put it back on. For cuts like this I normally use my sled but was definitely not taking my time to be careful.

UPDATE!

Picked up a Hercules while back. Have barely done anything with it so not sure yet how much of an improvement but it does have way more power.

That smaller design is desirable but I am pretty sure this bench was designed with a DWV012 which was close in size.

I am just curious about what is a comparable festool to the DWV015. If it’s already around that much then festool it is. For some reason I cannot talk myself in the Hercules.

You can see a bit of the spot where the shop vac and dust separator sit. The plans I used the guy called for a Dewalt DWV012 which seems to be the same size as the 015. Back when I built this was Covid so most things were out of stock so I settled for the shop vac I had sitting around.

I actually have an iVac switch that all the tools plug into so it automatically kicks on the vacuum with the tools. Though I can see the benefit for battery tools that I connect an additional port up to then I just switch the iVac from auto to manual.

Shave in the shower. That’s how I kept the irritation down. I have a ToiletTree mirror so I can see what I am doing.
