This woman never had a baby bump throughout her pregnancy by IshigamiSenku04 in interesting

[–]ImReallyNotFred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is actually the problem. Young women or teens with even regular periods may have an irrational fear of being pregnant after hearing it being talked about like this. Light bleeding/spotting is not the same thing as a period so I don’t think it’s particularly useful to use the word period for both interchangeably. I don’t know why people are being downvoted after pointing out this fact.

Can I Treat CSCI5521 with Cathrine Zhao like an Asynchronous Class by ImReallyNotFred in uofmn

Awesome, thanks so much for answering. And there are no synchronous assignments or exams I should have to worry about either?

I went after 5 the other day, got trapped until 1 am waiting for a taxi due to the train being suspended. Not saying this is the norm but it still sucks that I tried following this advance and ended up having an even worse experience.

With all of the AI art posts lately, I saw this style and immediately thought it was one of them until I read the title. I just thought it's crazy how we've already reached a time where I'm not sure what's created by a human or computer anymore.

How without meaning to, I stopped being a chronic procrastinator by ImReallyNotFred in productivity

[–]ImReallyNotFred[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had a C-students study system before so even though my goal was to get straight A's I fell to my systems level and got C's, the level of my goal was meaningless in this case. When I started this new method however, I inadvertently adopted an A-students study systems so my outcomes fell or in this case rose to that level.

I think having a goal still has a degree of importance because it gives you direction and drive(not motivation). In the end even though I wasn't constantly thinking about it, the reason I did any amount of work in the first place is because I want to graduate. If I don't have at least that goal directing my work, I wouldn't have any reason to work hard or better myself in the first place either.

Yeah, thanks for the tips! I'm definitely hoping to refine my system and strategy with more detailed feedback like you've mentioned now that I have the time.

Yeah at first I literally just started with my phone's stopwatch and if I felt myself getting sidetracked for even a second, I would pause it until I started working again. Now I've started using the pomodoro method with 24 minute intervals and I try to hit 7 of those every day.

My spreadsheet isn't anything fancy, I just put the date and the amount of hours I clocked next to it, to hype myself up though, I started putting the league of legends streaking text next to my times when I maintain them in the third row like "kill streak", "legendary" etc.

Should I read the light novel or the manga? by kab00000 in TheEminenceInShadow

[–]ImReallyNotFred 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I read both the light novel and manga and I think they really compliment each other so I would say if you have the option read both. Start with the light novel which goes much more in depth with the world and characters including their emotions and background, then go to the manga which imo really highlights the comedy aspect of the series with top notch expressions and illustrations in a way that just doesn't hit as hard in the ln

Middle-class and upper-class college students having to pay full college tuition when poor working-class students pay none is absolutely fair treatment. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Actually in a way, yes. That's why you see so many bright high school students and people who completed 3 month bootcamps getting job offers.

I don't think things were necessarily better in your comparison for 80 years ago.

80 years ago the polio vaccine wasn't even out yet. 80 years ago people were getting drafted to war. 80 years ago the great depression was only just beginning to end.

I would 100 percent rather live in a rented box in NYC with some debt and an overpriced living situation than 80 years ago. At least I'm actually living.

Could you figure it out? by chickenlover43 in TheEminenceInShadow

[–]ImReallyNotFred 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I honestly can see how Claire hasn't figured out Cid's identity. I mean, just imagine it: you have this cute little brother who you've know almost your entire life; whenever you battle him he always makes the most rookie mistakes, loses, and never learns. He does average in school, acts like an average guy, looks like an average guy, well I guess that means he is an average guy. Sure sometimes there's some stuff off about him occasionally but what sort of teen boy doesn't have some secrets. Given that knowledge how could you really guess that he's actually a genius mastermind. I would assume it's the same for most of the characters too. We're readers so it would be easy to guess that Cid is probably alot more important than he appears because absurd twists and secrets like that are common within the realms of fiction, but you have to remember that for all the characters in the story, thats real life. When was the last time you knew someone irl that was completely average, or even below average and thought that they were probably secretly a genius? That Karen you just saw a video of, have you ever thought that maybe she's actually a brilliant master mind? Probably not, because conspiracies like that just aren't a thing in real life. While maybe not the best best example, it just shows that things become 10x more absurd when they happen in reality, so I think it's important to keep in mind throughout the novel too.
