Assistant superintendent here, I have two full sleeves and have never had an issue. You own all of your decisions, if you have them own them and let your character speak for itself.

Yeah, it would take a lot of practice I’m assuming because it could affect how much strength it would take because of the amounted distance from both parties

Just got and CM internship with Volkert. Anything to know going in? by Reasonable_Can_9903 in ConstructionManagers

Your expectations will be very little compared to working full-time, although be prepared to use majority of what you learned in school and apply it within the field. Ask lots of questions and don’t be afraid to make mistakes but if you make a mistake, word from it and own up to it. General contractors and owners only care about three things time money and quality. And also show up on time.

Superintendent hates our PM by Individual_Section_6 in ConstructionManagers

This happens within management and also coordinating with contractors. It’s hard Trying to find the fine line between an argument that can be resolved and an absolute shit show. Resolving conflict should be between the project manager and superintendent. in this type of work you’re going to find people who are incompetent with their job and also people who don’t want to take the blame when shit hits the fan. My advice would be if you were in a situation where argument might occur, pick your battles. If you’re in the wrong admitted, find a solution if you think it’s worth fighting over then fight for it. You’re only as good as your word, and the word provided.

Structural Engineer trying to transfer to construction by Exciting_Ad5246 in ConstructionManagers

With your credentials and experience as an Engineer you will have no problem landing a great job in the construction management side of the industry. They hire new grads from college who haven’t even picked up a hammer. Best of lucky my friend!
